14.01.2022 I hope all our mums had a wonderful Mother’s Day yesterday and enjoyed watching your girls play! This game was by far the best game all season, especially the 1st half, with being ahead for the 1st time this season. After some really intense training sessions, myself and Courtney on repeat with the things we are teaching, and 4 games played It has all finally clicked and fallen into place! ... We saw: Strong sheparding 8 yes 8 3 man weaves A 2 man hand off Kick mark repeat A goal that 4 people helped to set up Amazing teamwork High intensity Keeping your feet Even... are you ready for this... ruck tap straight to the hands and a centre clearance Words can not express how proud Courtney and I are of the huge achievements the girls have conquered in a very short time of playing together, 6 weeks ago these girls hardly knew each other and now they are playing like they have been playing together for years. Even though we didn’t jag the win yesterday it still feels like we won. Thank you to Lily and Taylor from springwood for coming over and filling in to help us with number while we have girls away for rep events and girls out with injury. But I am sad to say this game wasn’t without injury chappo is likely to miss upto 12 weeks due to 2 broken fingers requiring surgery and Tahlia out for a week with concussion. Thankfully we will have Jacinta Kara and Jordie will be returning. Thank you to all our helper yesterday especially all the mums who helped out on their special day! Big shout out to Tammy who not only takes all the Wonderful photos of our girls each week, she was our ground Marshall yesterday as well multi tasking at it finest. 13.01.2022 1st night back for 2018 and it was a good turn out. 1st Id like to welcome Taya to the team! She had her 1st session last night. Taya is a 1st time player but you could have never known, with her strength and passion she is going to be a huge assets to our growing team. ... 10.01.2022 The start of the 2018 season is not far away now with SIGN ON weekend set for the 3rd & 4th Feb coinciding with the 1st round of AFLW Online registrations are now open, so jump on and sign up. Even if you are unsure please register as this will allow us to know who is interested and what further recruitment, if any, is required. This time of year is difficult from a club perspective as We understand that players may not want to register until they know who else has registere...d and who is coaching and coaches do not want to commit until they know they have a team. Thanks to those who have already signed up While Leopards should never lose their spots, should you decide that you do not wish to remain at the Leopards whether you are not happy with your team or coaching staff then you can be transferred to a club of your choice. Calamvale has been very successful in the past and while our coaches are not professionals (just like other clubs) they are skilful and dedicated to female footy. The fact that our current coaches have been approached by other clubs to jump ship says that we are doing something right. Coaching applications for 2018 are currently being assessed. We would love to help you continue to improve on the skills you have already developed, so please register asap to enable us to continue to support you and your journey in female footy.
