24.01.2022 Who is excited to see Santa on xmas eve? Hit us up with your street nameWho is excited to see Santa on xmas eve? Hit us up with your street name

24.01.2022 Today Thursday the 12th of November 2020 Well this time last year 12/11/2019 our brigade was on Standby at the Station on a Total Fire Ban Heat Wave day. Needless to say it was the start of the busiest fire season we had ever seen, with Calderwood Brigade trucks being out of the area more than 70 occasions up to March, and clicking up 12,000 Klm on our biggest truck Calderwood 1and 8,000 KLM on Calderwood 7. Our trucks like many others Ran more KLM in 5 months than most Fir...e Appliances do in an entire lifetime equal to 2 trips to Perth and back for the big truck and 1 return trip in the small truck! Each day coinciding with last season we will post a Respectful Picture Re-Counting the Memories with a location reflecting the efforts of all Fire Fighters and Emergency Service Workers. We should also spare thoughts for those that suffered losses. 12 months on, some families have not rebuilt, Some chose not to, some are waiting for processes to happen. This picture below is a starter, it was later in the season but an awesome example of Agencies working together, National Parks Batemans Bay David, forever will remember Calderwood Brigade with Calderwood Captain Chris Bourke at Termeil NSW South Coast. Calderwood 7 and a National Parks Small Tanker were surrounded by a firestorm, protecting structures, and a caravan. 17.01.2022 Fact: Your safest option is to leave early. A bush fire can be a terrifying situation, intense heat and flames will make you tire quickly, it will be difficult ...to see and breathe. You may become confused or disorientated. Powerlines and fallen trees can block roads and make driving dangerous. It’s always better to leave early, before the fire arrives. Visit myfireplan.com.au and make a bush fire survival plan, it will help you make important decisions like when to leave or what you need to be prepared to stay. #getreadyweekend #nswrfs #prepared #greatersydneyAC See more

14.01.2022 53% of kids charge their phone or tablet either on their bed or under their pillow. This is can be extremely dangerous. The heat cannot dissipate and the charger will become hotter and hotter. Think....where do you & your family charge your mobile phone? Do it in a well-ventilated area and definitely NOT under your pillow or mattress.

12.01.2022 Today we pause to remember the dedicated men and women who have died serving their community. #NationalPoliceRemembranceDay #NeverForgotten

10.01.2022 New Icons For Bush Fires Published Date: 27 Nov 2020 Summary As part of a new Australian Warning System, the way we display incidents on our website and app is changing.... From early December, the icons shown on on Fires Near Me and our website will be changing as part of a national initiative to have all states and territories displaying incidents in the same way. Advice A fire has started. There is no immediate danger. Stay up to date in case the situation changes. Watch And Act There is a heightened level of threat. Conditions are changing and you need to start taking action now to protect you and your family. Emergency Warning An Emergency Warning is the highest level of Bush Fire Alert. You may be in danger and need to take action immediately. Any delay now puts your life at risk. When these incidents are shown, there may be detailed information about what to do to protect you and your family. Over time, more types of incidents in more places around the country, will use the new system. What is the Australian Warning System? The Australian Warning System is a new national approach to information and warnings during emergencies and natural disasters like bush fire, flood, storm, extreme heat and severe weather. The System uses a nationally consistent set of icons, like those above, to show incidents on website and apps. The System has been designed based on feedback and research across the country, and aims to deliver a more consistent approach to these types of emergencies, no matter where you are. Australia’s fire and emergency services aim to provide you with timely and relevant information during emergencies. Remember don’t wait for a warning. Take action quickly and don’t delay.
