24.01.2022 With the COVID-19 situation continuing to improve in Tasmania, we are further easing visitor restrictions at Calvary Lenah Valley and Calvary St John's Hospitals. From today, 24 June 2020, each patient may nominate two visitors on admission. Only one nominated visitor may visit a patient at any one time. One single child visitor may accompany a single adult visitor. Visits are restricted to the patient’s room and children must remain with their adult carer at all times. Where... a patient shares a room with at least one other patient, please contact the Nurse Unit Manager before your visit. Your safety remains our primary responsibility. Screening questions and temperature checks for all visitors and staff will continue. Social/physical distancing of one person per 4 square metres as well as 1.5 metres separation will be required, and we ask for your support and co-operation in ensuring the number of people in the ward or room is consistent with social/physical distance guidelines. We are pleased to be taking the next step in easing restrictions, and thank patients and visitors for continuing to follow directions of staff. Please remember to use hand sanitiser stations at the entrance and throughout the hospital. Special exemptions may apply for palliative, paediatric or obstetrics patients. Please contact the hospital to discuss whether an exceptional visit can be arranged.

23.01.2022 Our patients and staff are our top priority. With the number of Coronavirus cases increasing in the community, Calvary has made the difficult decision to cease visitation at all Calvary private hospitals, effective midnight tonight. We appreciate your support during this time as we continue to care for you and your loved ones, while slowing the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus).

23.01.2022 LEADING THE WAY WITH ROBOTICS AND TECHNOLOGY Calvary Hobart remains the Tasmanian leader in technologically assisted health care options. We currently utilise t...hree active robotic programs, one being the da Vinci Surgical Operating System. The da Vinci platform has been used since 2019 in the urology field performing well over 100 cases in that time including robotically-assisted prostatectomies and also partial nephrectomies. The da Vinci robot has also been recently used for gynaecological procedures. The da Vinci platform translates the surgeon’s delicate hand movements performed via a console to da Vinci’s robotic arms which undertake microscopic and delicate surgical manoeuvres in real time. Calvary Hobart Urologist Mr Anthony Eaton is pictured with some of our theatre staff along side part of the amazing da Vinci robotic system. 23.01.2022 Oliver Willie came into the world 3 weeks early at 1am on 15 December, but he was right on time to be our first baby born on the day of our 80th Anniversary at Calvary Lenah Valley Hospital. Oliver is the third child for Emily and Shaun Willie who live close to the hospital here in Lenah Valley. Emily said, All of our three children have been born here at Calvary and we just love the care of the midwifery staff, they are just amazing. It just has a beautiful family feelin...g and a warmth that we enjoy. The decorations around the ward this year are just exquisite, the Aussie Bush Christmas theme is a lovely touch. Each year at Christmas, the maternity staff go above and beyond with decorating the ward, always with a special flair. Oliver is pictured modelling one of the cute Snugglepot and Cuddlepie beanies hand made by the midwives for the Maternity Ward’s Bush Christmas theme. The ward even has its own gum trees sporting life size hand made Australian birds from felt. We all join in welcoming baby Oliver to the Calvary family and he will always have the special honour of being our 80th Anniversary baby.

18.01.2022 Adam and Jacinta Boss of Claremont earlier this week welcomed baby daughter Marley to their family. Whilst Jacinta will be spending her first ever Mother’s Day (today) in the Lenah Valley Maternity unit, the new family are very excited to be heading home from hospital Monday. Marley weighed in at 7lbs 5oz and was a little bit sleepy for our photo shoot, but it was obvious her parents, Jacinta and Adam, could not be prouder. They were delighted to be part of our Calvary Maternity Mother’s Day Post. Congratulations all and welcome to the Calvary Family Marley!

06.01.2022 From the team at Calvary Maternity have a very Merry Christmas and a happy New Year

02.01.2022 Calvary Hospital is currently restricting visitors to our hospitals due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The exception to this is pregnant women giving birth. Each maternity patient is permitted a single designated support person. This person is welcome from the time of your admission until your discharge and may come and go as needed. They will be COVID-19 screened when entering the hospital (limited to once a day). This involves a series question and a temperature check. We are working on a virtual tour of our unit and parenting classes for you to watch from the comfort of your home. We acknowledge this is an anxious time to be pregnant and completely agree that no woman should have to birth alone. We welcome any questions you may have. Please contact the Maternity unit directly.

02.01.2022 Parents Nathan and Meagan and big sister Isla are delighted to announce the arrival of Darcy Rebecca Free. Isla, who is also a Calvary baby, is very excited to be a big sister. Welcome to our Calvary family baby Darcy! We wish this beautiful family all the best and we feel very privileged to have been a part of their special journey.

02.01.2022 Sarah, Matthew and big brother Rowley are excited to welcome identical twin girls Remi and Sienna to their family. Identical twins are also known as monozygotic twins. This means that they develop from the fertilization of one egg which then splits in two, unlike fraternal twins where two eggs are released and fertilized. Identical twins don’t run in families they are just a happy fluke of nature. We have been thrilled to care for this beautiful family through the births of all their children. Welcome to our Calvary family Remi and Sienna!

01.01.2022 Andrew and Melissa recently welcomed their twin boys Oscar and Noah into the world at Calvary, albeit just a little earlier than expected! The boys were born 7 weeks early but despite this weighed a healthy 2180g and 2140g respectively. After a short stay at the RHH NICU Unit, Melissa and her little bundles returned to Calvary to continue on their hospital care. We caught up with the Melissa for some special photos in the Special Care Nursery at Calvary Lenah Valley. "They h...ave been growing well and were lucky enough to be the first babies in the hospital to trial the new twin cot." Melissa said. "This was particularly enjoyable for the boys as they enjoy snuggling up close whilst they are in the cot and also during skin-to-skin time with mum." she added. During their stay, big brother Harrison now 2, (who was also born 6 weeks early himself!) has enjoyed coming in to see his new 'baa daas' (brothers). Melissa and Andrew are very pleased to share their new family members to the world through our facebook site and particularly want to thank the wonderful Calvary staff for making their experience such a positive one. Everyone in the family are super excited for the next step - bringing the twins home! We hope you enjoy all the photos within this post of these little 'Calvary Treasures'.
