25.01.2022 To all the small businesses and locals of small towns who encourage Grey Nomads and other travelers to spend in their communities, now these people are being hunted from all the places they used to visit, some have nowhere to stay. I would suggest that when this is all over the Grey Nomads and other travelling folk including families will have a very different attitude towards supporting those who rejected them through this crisis.

22.01.2022 Suburban Hot Water Systems - Update 13/07/2020 Regarding the suspension of certificate AGA4624 affecting Suburban hot water service models SW6PA, SW6DA, SW6DEA, SW4DEA, SW4DECA and SW6DECA. We write to advise that we have been given approval by the Gas Technical Regulators Committee (GTRC) and the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (ACCC) to progress to recall. While this is certainly welcome news there are still a few outstanding matters that we are working through... before we can begin to have water heaters inspected. The most important factor is landing gas equipment from the US that is needed to undertake the tests required by the inspection plan. Due to Covid19 and disruptions in the US/AUS supply chain, there has been a delay in obtaining this equipment. Without this equipment, gas fitters will be unable to complete the inspection required. We’re expecting this equipment to arrive in approximately two weeks at which point the recall process will begin. When this equipment arrives and the recall begins, consumers will be directed to a dedicated registration page on our website to register their water heater and complete an online form. This information will be used to provide the consumer with a work order and a list of authorised recall service agents. The consumer will be able to contact their preferred service agent and book an appointment for their water heater to be inspected. If their water heater passes inspection, a CO detector will be fitted and no further work will be required. If their water heater fails inspection, it will need to be replaced. The replacement water heater will be a 2020 Suburban gas/electric, storage water heater (a like for like product). In the event that a 2020 Suburban is not available, the Coast RV recall team will discuss alternative options with the consumer including a Suburban Nautilus instantaneous (gas only) water heater or other equivalent unit. The full inspection and replacement procedure will be provided to authorised recall service agents by the end of this week. Consumers that are seeking further information or have enquiries regarding Suburban hot water services are advised to contact our recall hotline on 02 9645 7685 or email [email protected]. We appreciate your continued support during this period as we draw close to a resolution. Kind Regards, The teams at Suburban and Coast to Coast See more

22.01.2022 Coronavirus statistics: I have been checking the Govt. statistics, in the last eight days there has been and increase of 2421 cases in Oz. That is 302 a day on average, at that rate the total in one year would be 110,458 people infected. Sobering................

21.01.2022 Northern Territory border closure info: Not really a closure for caravan travelers: "anyone arriving in the Northern Territory would have to declare at the point of entry that they would isolate for 14 days and let the authorities know where they would be for this period" NOT A PROBLEM

09.01.2022 A good point: FORCED TO MOVE IN A TRAVEL BAN I just want to share the story of people who live on the road at the moment. ... My husband & I are full-time travellers (since mid-December). Our car & camper trailer are our home. We own nothing else except for a few boxes at a friends place. There are many people like us on the road. Taken time off work, doing their ‘Big Lap’ or simply people who travel all around Australia year in & year out. People like us have brought business to & kept small & medium towns alive all over Australia. Not just grey nomads, but backpackers & families with kids. We’ve been asked to support rural & regional Australia. To shop, to camp, to visit the local pub & buy a coffee. To visit local attractions. To work on their farms & properties. Then ‘The Corona’ hit. And now we’re the enemy. We’re going to clog up their hospital systems. We steal their food & drink. And toilet paper . We’re going to bring Corona to their town. Councils have sent out police to move us on. When we have nowhere else to go. Ordinary people who are isolating. Lots of space & room. Sitting in their space. Some campgrounds are no longer allowed to take essential travellers (is) without risking a $55,000 fine (Forbes Council). People are driving 1000’s of km’s under great stress to get to somewhere safe. They’re being harassed by other people on the road because they’re towing a home. We all have homes but our opportunities to find somewhere to put our home is getting more & more limited. We are all trying bunker down but so many of us are being forced to keep on moving because of new ‘policy’. They’re actually forcing us out onto the road. To keep moving. This is the story of the many full time travellers who have supported rural & regional Australia. My husband & I are staying in a caravan park that is so expensive - beyond what we can afford. Terrified to move because we know we’ll be targeted. But so grateful because it is safe & clean & friendly. And it’s in a big town so we’re anonymous. We blend in! All I can say is we will remember who supported OUR COMMUNITY in times of hardship & we will remember you in the future.

07.01.2022 COVID 19 DOOMADGEE - LATEST NEWS As at midday, Friday 3 July 2020, Doomadgee Shire, Burke Shire, and most Cape York Shires and communities moved from Stage 2 to Stage 3 of the State Government’s Roadmap to easing access restrictions for Queensland’s remote communities (https://www.datsip.qld.gov.au//remote-communities-roadmap.). This means that entry and quarantine restrictions for Doomadgee outlined in previous State and Federal Directions, no longer apply. Doomadgee wil...l now be subject to same rules as other Queensland communities under the Roadmap to easing Queensland’s restrictions (https://www.datsip.qld.gov.au//remote-communities-roadmap.) that outlines the state-wide approach to easing COVID-19 restrictions. Council appreciates the inconvenience that the entry and quarantine restrictions has had on members of the Doomadgee community. To date, there has not been a single case of COVID-19 in an indigenous community within Queensland. However, residents are reminded that entry and quarantine restrictions may be reintroduced should COVID-19 re-emerge as a threat to the Doomadgee community. See more
