21.01.2022 Visitors to Lake Somerset can enjoy a new designated stop off point this summer! Located north of the Spit and accessible only from the water, the stop off poin...t can be used by boats, personal watercraft and paddle craft. You can set up for the day (no overnight camping), drop in for a leisurely picnic or just to stretch your legs. The stop off point is designed to provide a convenient and safe area for visitors to pull off the water and take a break. Signage has been installed at the stop off point, along with a buoy on the water to direct visitors to the area. 20.01.2022 Greetings Campers, Guests, Neighbours and Friends. Camp Somerset is slowly re-opening, soft opening details are below: Stage 2 (from 1st June)... Site remains closed to day visitors unless by pre-arranged appointment. Camping: Limited Waterfront Camping bookings available. Only one booking per location is available allowing no sharing of toilet facilities between camping groups. There will be no access to the shower block during Stage 2, and all campers agree to the terms and conditions of hire including the COVID additions. Accommodation: Some limited accommodation will be available on request. Stage 3 Waterfront Camping returns to normal, access to the Shower block un restricted and all campers agree to the terms and conditions of hire including the COVID additions in cleaning all shared areas before and after use. Accommodation: Group accommodation returns to "COVID Normal" allowing groups back onsite meeting social distancing requirements and conditions of hire including COVID additions. Thank you also for your support and co-operation at this difficult time and we apologise for the unavoidable inconvenience. While there will be staff onsite everyday each week, our Office hours will be reduced as we scale back staffing during this period and is anticipated to be 8am 4pm Monday, Wednesday and Friday, but this may vary depending on operations. Stay tuned for updates as they become available. We continue to pray for God’s leading and protection and we know He will remain with us all at this challenging time.

The above positions are being re-advertised at Camp Somerset as we step out in faith, South Queensland Conference and the full-time positions offered to the successful candidates, as a twelve (12) month fixed term contract position. These positions offer variety and challenges as part of the Camp Somerset Team. The successful applicants while not required to be a practicing member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church must share a commitment to the Church’s mission and be prepared to support the ideals and beliefs of the church and be able to demonstrate good communication and relational skills to be able to co-operatively work with other staff and management of the camp to achieve positive outcomes for ministry on the site. All successful applicants must possess a Positive Notice Blue Card for Child Related Employment. Relevant and Current experience and qualifications required in each field can be sourced from within the specific Position Profiles and remuneration will be based on the relevant Industrial Award, dependent on experience and qualifications of the successful candidates.
