25.01.2022 What a wonderful stay at Kangaroo Island for our participants and support workers who enjoyed our 3 day stay. Booked originally in mid 2019 for 2020 stay but did not eventuate till now due to COVID. Day 1 Arrived at Penneshaw and went to our accommodation at Dudley Villa...with wonderful hosts Helen and Stack. Dropped off out luggage and off we went...... # Prospect Hill ...we climbed up over 300 steps and then down again. #Cliffords Honey Farm...learnt about the special bees on KI and had some yummy honey ice cream. #Dinner at the Penneshaw Hotel. # returned to the villa and did some quiet activities in preparation for following day. We were in overwhelmed how the vegetation was regenerating after the 2020 tragic bush fires on KI. Day 2: Rise and shine on day 2 and off at 9.30am . Travelled for a long while to arrive .. #Remarkable Rocks #Admiral’s Arch and also saw New Zealand Fur Seals frolicking in the ocean. #Lunch was a very casual affair with fresh bread rolls, cold meats, cheese etc from the back of our van. #Raptor’s Domain where some of the participants and staff were brave enough to participate in the show with the flight birds / birds of prey. #Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Oil Distillery. They watched a video on the history of the distillery and some purchases were made. #Dinner at the Ozone Kingscote. #Returned to the Villa where they toasted marshmallows using sticks that participants had collected in the morning....later after consuming their delicious delights the sticks were returned to nature.. Day 3: All up early to get ready to depart KI. Participants / support workers supported each other in preparation to say goodbye. We visited the Penneshaw Markets where items were purchased in preparation for Mother’s Day 2021. After disembarking at Cape Jervis we had lunch Yankalilla and then Adelaide bound. I would like to also thank our awesome staff Taylor, Marie and Tania for their care and dedication to the participants this weekend away.

02.01.2022 What an awesome country we all live in... AUSTRALIA This last year has been difficult for all; we are a country of many nations, like a fruit salad but when all together we are strong and united but different. Let’s celebrate Australia Day ... But we need to also acknowledge SURVIVAL DAY for Aboriginal and Torrens Straight Islander people.. a day that changed their lives forever....it is a celebration of their people and culture, their continuous contributions they continuously make to Australia. As aboriginal people they don’t celebrate this day as it a day of mourning and acknowledging the past but we at Campability SA acknowledge them. Campability SA celebrated with thong throwing, tug of war, find the country, making masks / flags, presenting Santosh gift from us all for his wedding plus sooo much more. Sunday was a day of extreme heat 40C plus so we were unable to have the good old Aussie sizzle with snags ... we still enjoyed chicken n chips, salads and fresh fruit.... celebrated indoors at Broadview Football Club. Finally finished off with a song. Enjoy our photos as We Did It Our Way
