24.01.2022 After 39 years of dedicated and distinguished service, Chief Inspector Margaret Meg Grady retires today (Monday 24 August 2020). Ch Insp Grady joined the NSW ...Police Force in 1981 and started her career as a probationary constable stationed at Mosman Police Station; one of two female constables to serve at Mosman at that time. In 1983, Ch Insp Grady became one of the inaugural female officers to work at the Traffic and Highway Patrol Command; spending nine years in the Southern Highlands Highway Patrol, before transferring to Campbelltown in 1992. She rose through the ranks from senior constable to chief inspector in police stations across Sydneys south-west, including Fairfield, Liverpool and Campbelltown. South West Metropolitan Regions Assistant Commissioner Peter Thurtell said Ch Insp Grady had guided and developed many junior police of all ranks. "Her wealth of experience and wisdom is something that cannot be replaced overnight and it is this wealth of experience, knowledge and wisdom which she has imparted onto the police who have followed," Assistant Commissioner Thurtell said. "She has been a pioneer for women in policing and, through her resilience and initiative, has led changes to the role that have opened doors for others. "We congratulate Chief Inspector Meg Grady on her distinguished career and are thankful for her commitment to the community." On behalf of the NSW Police Force, we wish Ch Insp Grady a long, happy and safe retirement!

21.01.2022 Organised Crime Squad detectives have charged two men and a woman after a sophisticated clan lab manufacturing methylamphetamine was uncovered in a south wester...n Sydney granny flat. In November last year, the detectives from the Organised Crime Squad established Strike Force Kincraig to investigate the large-scale supply of prohibited drugs across Sydney. Initial inquiries resulted in detectives expanding the investigation to include the manufacture of methylamphetamine. As part of inquiries, a 31-year-old man was arrested at Dover Heights on Wednesday 6 May 2020. He was charged with drug supply-related offences and appeared at Central Local Court on Thursday 7 May 2020. He is next due to reappear at Central Local Court on Thursday 27 August 2020. Following further investigations, strike force detectives, assisted by South West Metropolitan Region Operations Support Group, executed a search warrant at a home at Kentlyn about 9.20am yesterday (Thursday 13 August 2020). Upon entry to a granny flat at the rear of the property, police located a 54-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman inside a sophisticated clandestine laboratory, with the man allegedly in the process of manufacturing ice. The pair were arrested, while another woman, aged 31, and an 11-month-old boy were escorted from the other side of the granny flat, which was separated by a gyprock wall. A child at risk report has since been submitted. A crime scene was established, and the area was rendered safe by Fire and Rescue NSW before an examination commenced by the Drug and Firearms Squads Chemical Operations Unit. Meanwhile, the man and woman were taken to Campbelltown Police Station. While the forensic examination and subsequent dismantling of the lab is expected to take a number of days, police have already seized a large commercial quantity of ice, a significant amount of liquids, powders and items related to the manufacture of prohibited drugs. Following further investigations, detectives attended Roberts Way, Claymore where they located a vehicle with significant damage including numerous bullet holes. The vehicle was recovered and taken for forensic examination. About 6.30pm, a 37-year-old man arrived at the Kentlyn property and following inquiries was subject to a search, where police seized $5000 cash and 100g of ephedrine. He was arrested and taken to Campbelltown Police Station. The 54-year-old Kentlyn man was charged with manufacture prohibited drug (large commercial quantity)-expose child and supply prohibited drug (large commercial quantity). He was refused bail to appear at Campbelltown Local Court later today (Friday 14 August 2020). The 37-year-old Auburn man was charged with supply prohibited drug (indictable quantity), recklessly deal with the proceeds of crime and drive motor vehicle while licence suspended. The 40-year-old Warwick Farm woman was charged with found on/entering/leaving drug premises. Both were granted conditional bail to appear at Campbelltown Local Court on Monday 14 September 2020. Investigations under Strike Force Kincraig are ongoing. Anyone with information in relation to the manufacture or supply of prohibited drugs is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au. Information is treated in strict confidence. The public is reminded not to report crime via NSW Police social media pages.

Loraine Bright told reporters she was hoping the increased reward announced today would bring new leads for investigators to finally put Michelles killer in jail. "After 21 years of indescribable pain, we are hoping that someone will come forward and help police put those responsible for taking Michelles life away behind bars. Three days later, her body was found in long grass by the side of Barneys Reef Road.
