22.01.2022 Results for today’s round 2 men’s club championships Stroke Play. A good field of 39 men fronted up for Round 2 of the 2020 Men’s Club Championships. It seems that after yesterday’s Round 1 scores, a few thought it not worth the effort; some others possibly wished they had did the same! (Maybe). The weather was fine for the most part; warm and humid with an occasional light shower. The forecast thunderstorms arrived on schedule at 4.00pm, as the final groups were completing... their rounds. The course is drying out quickly, so a good shower will be advantageous. Only 4 mils measured in town however; maybe a little more tomorrow. RESULTS. Stroke Event. A Grade. Winner Bernie Sinnott, 78 11 = 67. Runner Up Liam Lafferty, 73 5 = 68. B Grade. Winner Gary Lafferty, 84 15 = 69. Runner Up Norm Tonks, 87 16 = 71. C Grade. Winner Ross Hughes, 95 25 = 70. Runner Up Ray Jackson, 94 23 = 71. Balls Down the Line. Paul Stephens 69; Col Keane 69; Alan Fraser 70. Allan White 70; Murray Lucas 71; Norm Tonks 71. Dave Absolom 71. Championship Standings after Round 2. A Grade. Jack Kerr 141. Paul Stephens 149. Simon Baker 149. Dave Absolom 149. Allan White 151. Alan Fraser 151. B Grade. Matt Sinnott 168, Peter Skene 171. Brian Fitzgerald 171. Michael Hassett 172. Greg Teal 174. C Grade. Ray Jackson 188. Ross Hughes 189. Jeff Collins 191. Ben Moulden 206. Still plenty of golf to be played, in Rounds 3 and 4. Round 3 will be played next Saturday, 28/11/20. Round 4 (final) will be played the following Saturday, December 5th, in conjunction with the December Monthly Medal. It is great to have the Clubhouse in use again, providing refreshments, and an opportunity to reflect on the daily feats of the golfers. Everybody is doing the right thing by the Covid-safe plan. Thanks to Trish and John for staffing the bar, and cleaning the facilities after patrons depart. (Bernie / Jeff.)

15.01.2022 Results from the Wolbul Monthly Medal putting comp and ladies stableford The August Monthly Medal was sponsored by Wolbul. Thanks Nick and family. The stroke event also includes, as usual, a putting competition. The course is looking magnificent at present. Usually wet underfoot at this time of the year, the whole course has had the mowers applied to it. It is mostly firm underfoot, with only few soft patches. The greens were rolled and generally quick, It was good to play i...n dry conditions, especially for those who played from late morning onwards. (I guess the grass would have been damp for the 8.00am tee time.) There was a light breeze from the north, and sunny conditions. Marie had been a long time member of the club and, though no longer an active player, she and her husband Charlie continued to support us with their sponsorship of the annual Marie Astell Bowl. We offer our deepest sympathy to Charlie and all Maries family.

07.01.2022 With the wearing of face masks becoming compulsory in Victoria from 11.59 tonight, here is what to expect when you arrive at your Golf Club. Based on verbal adv...ice provided by the Victorian DHHS, Golf Australia recommends the following: All golfers must wear a face covering or face mask when playing golf across Victoria, unless they are affected by a relevant medical condition such as breathing difficulties (e.g. Asthma), a serious skin condition on the face, a disability or a mental health condition. GA strongly recommends that all clubs/facilities direct players, staff and volunteers to wear a face covering that must stay on whilst at the club/facility and if playing, for the duration of their round. It is recommended that upon arrival all players are asked to wear a face covering and are asked to leave the facility immediately if they are not wearing a face covering, unless they are affected by a relevant medical condition. It is recommended that clubs/facilities seek a medical certificate or other proof of exemption for players who state they have a valid reason not to wear a face covering. All club/facility employees and volunteers must wear a face covering whilst at the club/facility. It is the responsibility of clubs/facilities to ensure that employees and volunteers are wearing a face covering while at the club/facility. Face coverings can be removed while eating and drinking. If further information is released, Golf Australia will communicate to clubs/facilities as quickly as practicable.

04.01.2022 Hi All, As most people are aware Stage 3 restrictions for regional Victoria are to be in place come 11.59pm tonight. What this means for us is that we continue what we have had in place previous but with some added changes.... The main change is that there is to be NO competition play. Golf is only to be played socially with a group of two (if people are from the same household they can play together as long as they are named on bookatee) Masks must be worn, except for when eating or drinking. If you have any questions re: restrictions pls call/message myself or Darren Frost Happy golfing masked bandits! Best Regards, Gabby Gill 0439 636 485
