15.01.2022 I have spoken on this issue previously - now it seems a senior financial economist is getting it... ( probably many others are also ) Why are lenders under direction from regulatory bodies to work out loan affordability at interest rates of 7.25% and greater??? , when the official cash rate is 1.5% and likely to fall to 1% later this year?? If the affordability calculations are performed at a lower rate it could mean that home ownership is possible for a greater portion of t...he population :) Watch this space....
