20.01.2022 A meeting was held on Tuesday of the Executive committee. Ray, Blayney CanAssist President could not stress enough that we are open for business if you know of anyone or are in need yourself of assistance, please contact Ray and he will ensure it is attended to. While we are unable to hold our normal monthly meetings, the committee asks for everyone to understand we are still assisting our cancer patients in these times. The Blayney CanAssist Annual Branch Meeting, this was due to be held in September with the current Covid guidelines a decision was made to postpone this meeting with a date to be advised. A letter has been mailed to all members of Blayney CanAssist advising of the outcomes from the meeting.

10.01.2022 Judy Claypole Recognised for her Contribution to Blayney Can Assist Judy Claypole has been a valued member of Blayney Can Assist since our group was founded in 2008, holding the position of Publicity Officer for the past 12 years. Judy resigned from this position in March this year but remains an active member of our branch. Earlier this year, unbeknown to Judy, Honorary Life Membership was bestowed on her. Due to COVID restrictions our branch had not been able to meet to pr...esent this to Judy but earlier this month a small group of members, who were part of the original group who formed our branch, met for a casual afternoon tea in order to present Judy with her Honorary Life Membership and thank her for her dedication to our branch and our local community. President, Ray Burns, presented Judy with her badge , certificate and a bouquet of flowers before Judy cut a cake marking the occasion. As it happens, Ray was the inaugural President when our branch formed so it was only fitting that he was there to make the presentation. Judy was surprised to be recognised in such a way and enjoyed time reminiscing with those present about how things had been in those early times and friendships formed through the years. It is hoped that when life returns to normal that we will be able to recognise Judy’s contribution at a branch level with all our members present. Blayney Can Assist would like to thank Judy for the tireless effort she has put into spreading the word about Can Assist within our local community.

06.01.2022 To our wonderful Volunteers thank you for assisting today on the BBQ at the Blayney Show your help was greatly appreciated. What a wonderful day it turned out to be slow to start to having to turn people away towards the end as we had ran out. To the people who purchased we would like to extend a very grateful THANK YOU for supporting this very worthy local based charity.

01.01.2022 This morning our Blayney Branch conducted and made up delicious plates of goodies for Morning Tea. Purchase of these were from our local Community Workers. Thank you to Everyone who purchased a plate. A huge Thank you to Sue, Marie and Lyn for coordinating this Event. Thank you to all our valued Volunteers who cooked, gave their time to assist in the preperation and the wonderful delivery drivers. Without all of you this fundraiser would not have taken place. Thank you Everyone for another successful fundraiser.
