25.01.2022 Still today, Can Assist works to ensure people in country and rural NSW know there is a support structure in place to provide assistance should they receive a cancer diagnosis and need help. Please share our posts with someone you know who lives in rural or regional NSW. With statistics of 1 in 3 receiving a cancer diagnosis by the age of 80, you never know who may need some assistance. Can Assist respects each client’s confidentiality.... Find out more www.canassist.org.au

08.01.2022 In 1976 patient intake at the Jean Colvin Hospital was running at capacity. The need to accommodate the patient’s relatives while they were receiving treatment had become greatly evident. Two years later and after much hunting Ecclesbourne in Double Bay was purchased. Branches continued to add their support with Gunnedah donating $1,000 towards the cost of carpet, Tamworth donating $2,000 for lighting and refrigerators. Crockery and linen were donated by Berrima and the Sou...th Coast branch. Ecclesbourne was officially opened on 23rd March 1979 and finally allowed patients, and their family, to travel to Sydney together to ease the stress of cancer treatment.
