22.01.2022 We are very happy to be supporting people with cancer in partnership with Deniliquin CanAssist. Having a car to get to treatment is an absolute must in a rural area, especially with COVID-19 limiting access to public and patient transport.

17.01.2022 Can Assist has 55 branches across rural New South Wales and is celebrating its 65th year this year. Our biggest point of difference is that when a Can Assist br...anch asks for a donation, or hosts a fundraising event, you can be assured that 100% of the money raised will stay in that town to support local cancer patients. 14.01.2022 "Can Assist: assisting country families affected by cancer" Article in Rex Airlines magazine True Blue magazine, February/March 2020 issue.

14.01.2022 Dear Members, As the outbreak of COVID-19 progresses rapidly, we are acting on the advice of Head Office who are monitoring information from NSW Health and other Government sources.... The health and wellbeing of event volunteers and attendees is of the utmost priority when making this decision. It is important to remember when it comes to our community, all of us have a duty of care to make sure of safe environments that dont pose a potential risk to health and safety. As we are a charity that relies on regular face to face contact with our communities, through branch meetings, events, client assistance and interaction and more, managing the risk of coronavirus is critically important. The decision was made today that we cancel our monthly Trivia Event which is held on the last Tuesday each month until further notice. No further events will be held until we have received advice from Head Office that it is safe to re commence fundraising. Members Meeting scheduled to be held on the 4th May 2020, has been cancelled. Orange Branch Assistance will continue to operate as usual by the Executive Committee, reports will be sent out to keep Members up to date on our financial status, this could prove to be a difficult time for the branch without regular donations and fundraising. Please contact me should you have any concerns or queries or ideas that may get us through. Thank you for your ongoing support of Can Assist Orange. Thank you for your understanding at this time and may you all keep well. Wishing you all good health, Warm regards, President Helen

13.01.2022 Whilst Can Assist is well regarded across NSW for the assistance it provides it is also synonymous for community. Arrangements for the charities first fundrai...ser function was made at their second meeting in November 1956. It was a Games Night and considered a great success raising about 90 pounds. Following this there were morning teas, fashion parades, balls at the Trocadero Club and a variety of other functions. 65 years on and our volunteers and supporters continue to arrange hundreds of events from golf days, film nights, garden openings to Bling it on Balls. All the money raised through these events stays within the communities it is raised in to help those local. We look forward to resuming our fundraising activities. Not only do our events raise money to help but they create connectivity among people, supporting the ideals of the charity. www.canassist.org.au

07.01.2022 Cancer doesn't stop for COVID-19, but COVID-19 increases the burden on patients suffering from cancer. Help us lessen their load and donate to Can Assist. COVID-19 has forced the cancellation of all Can Assist Branch fundraising events across NSW - from Gala Balls to meat raffles including the hugely successful annual Country Cruisin for Can Assist 20. The drought, bushfires and now COVID-19 place unprecedented pressure on our income. If you are able to, please make a tax de...ductable donation to Can Assist Orange today so we can continue to help people in our community suffering from cancer and its associated costs. All money donated locally stays local! Even the smallest donation is very much appreciated. Please click here to donate now: http://www.givenow.com.au/canassistbathurst
