The update provides details about venues, class pages on Languages.Org.Au and assessment tasks. Best wishes to all for a successful semester.

17.01.2022 As of yesterday, 10 June 2020, the Canberra Academy of Languages Facebook page has 100 followers. We would like to thank you all for your interest in our work, our programs and our charter. We are here to expand opportunities for senior secondary students in the Canberra region to continue their learning of languages and to gain recognition for their studies; and we have active partnerships with other organisations in languages advocacy. 15.01.2022 CAL's online information session about our programs in languages for next year is on via Google Meet at 6 pm this evening. If you have not yet sent an rsvp, you are still welcome to do so up to an hour beforehand (up to 5 pm). 15.01.2022 As advised in recent broadcast emails to participants, CAL language learning programs in our French, German, Spanish and Tamil classes will continue online for at least the initial weeks of Term 2. For more details, see the News page on CAL website, https://cal.act.edu.au/news.htm.

14.01.2022 CAL programs in French, German, Spanish and Tamil will resume at our venues for face-to-face sessions from this week (Week 17) - on Wednesday 10 June for French and Spanish, Thursday 11 June for German and Friday 12 June for Tamil. Next week (Week 18) will be the final week of programs for this semester. Along with ACT secondary colleges, CAL staff will then be processing results and other requirements for the ACT Board of Senior Secondary Studies. 13.01.2022 The next online Mother Tongue Multilingual Poetry event via Zoom will be on Monday 29 June with two poets from Darwin featuring one who writes in German and English, and the other, Melanie Munungurr, who speaks Yolngu Matha and English and was the 2018 Australian Poetry Slam champion. 12.01.2022 Our programs page was updated on CAL website today. As advised there, to implement advice on physical distancing related to COVID-19, class sessions are taking place online. On-site programs will resume when these measures are no longer necessary. We anticipate that classes will be delivered online throughout Term 2 of 2020.

07.01.2022 Open now - a free fun ACT Bilingual Education Alliance competition inviting students from pre-school to Year 12 in the Canberra area to tell us about a favourite dish or special family meal that involves a language other than English.
