22.01.2022 Here's the list of Charpentier scores we've done. Drop us a line if you're interested! http://www.canberrabaroque.com.au//Charpentier%20catalogue

19.01.2022 Finally Canberra Baroque has made it to Facebook! Stay tuned for the latest news on new editions, upcoming performances and lots more.

17.01.2022 Let's start with the portrait, which could be the only known picture of Charpentier. It's from an engraving by Landry depicting a royal ball in 1682 and this character is holding a minuet by Charpentier. Louis XIV (a renowned dancer in his younger days) is doing a bit of a jig in the centre of the picture. This project all started when I realised many of Charpentier's scores are yet to be published in practical editions, so he is the ideal portrait to have.

17.01.2022 DId some counting up today and there have been more than 28,000 downloads of the Canberra Baroque editions of Telemann cantatas. This one is #1 on the popularity list. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gnsqqQJbUxo

12.01.2022 The printing press has been busy over the Australian winter, this time with a third annual set of 72 Telemann cantatas. His "Engels-Jahrgang" cycle from 1748-49 is so named because the title page has a print of an angel. Most are scored for solo voice, 2 violins and continuo. Each cantata has two arias separated by a recit, bookmarked by simple 4 part chorale settings. Five festive cantatas have opening choruses with trumpets and timpani. It's been fantastic putting this music together, most of which has remained unpublished until now.

11.01.2022 How about a Canberra Baroque concert series? Interested in proposals from singers and instrumentalists, professionals and students, if you've got a possible program get in touch. It would be terrific if you share this with others who might be keen on bringing an existing program to Canberra. And if you're a performer or a small group looking for a program, get in touch as well!

08.01.2022 Well it has been quite a long absence, but we're back to the manuscripts. New score is this lovely Christmas cantata by Stradella for soprano, alto and bass with 2 violins and continuo.

06.01.2022 This year's is Telemann's anniversary, 250 years since his death. (This picture shows the stamp from 1981 for the 300th anniversary of his birth). So we thought we would transcribe a few of his cantatas. His most famous set was Harmonischer Gottesdienst which he published in two sets, each with 72 cantatas covering all Sundays plus other occasions in the church year. So one thing led to another and, a few months later, all 144 cantatas have been done! (only about 1500 left to go...) The scores are available at www.imslp.org, but contact us if you're interested in orchestral parts. http://www.canberrabaroque.com.au//Telemann%20cantata%20li

01.01.2022 New scores available - almost all of Vivaldi's surviving cantatas for solo soprano and continuo. There are more than 20 of them - we have transcribed RV 649 to 669 (inclusive) plus RV 796. Much lovely music (and some of them are very challenging indeed!) Happy to make these available to singers - and it would be great to hear of any performances.
