22.01.2022 We have very exciting news! Each year, the Woden Valley Youth Choir takes on the enormous but rewarding task of putting on Canberra’s Carols by Candlelight at Stage 88. This has been our gift to the Canberra community for 23 years and a most special evening for the choristers and families. We have been wishing, waiting and hoping to get approval to run a Covid-safe event this year, and now it's official! Carols will be going ahead on Saturday December 12. Carols by Candleli...ght will be a ticketed event this year for a maximum of 2000 attendees. We have had to sell tickets at a mimimum cost this year to help with our Covid-safe requirements and also cover the extra infrastructure we need. But an exciting extra aspect is that the event will be Livestreamed on Facebook by ABC Local Radio, who are our event partner for the very first time. Our nominated charity is Hands Across Canberra. We are also delighted to announce that our guest artist this year is Lucy Sugerman, a young Canberra singer/songwriter. Tickets are available at https://www.trybooking.com/BMPGN We are EXCITED!!

Commonwealth Park Charity for 2019 This year the nominated charity for Carols by Candlelight will be the Anglicare Youth Engagement Programme for Indigenous young people in the Canberra Region. This programme provides scholarships to enable young people to complete their secondary schooling and go on to either vocational training or tertiary studies. See more
