25.01.2022 Harriet's Story. Brave Harriet was orphaned at 7 months of age. She has two puncture wounds on the back of her neck from when she was attacked by a fox. She had to undergo surgery several times to reconstruct the injured area and to remove shards of broken bone and infection from the site. Initially she was given intravenous antibiotics but after a time her little legs were unable to tolerate the IV line and her vet decided to give her oral antibiotics instead. These antibiotics are unavailable commercially and so we were asked to make them for her ongoing treatment. Harriet is on the road to recovery in the care of Lindy and ACT Wildlife but still has a way to go before she can be released back into the wild. We wish her well and all the people involved in her care.

22.01.2022 Meet Tiki, a new patient of ours, a mini lop rabbit. She has been adopted from the RSPCA by a loving family. She has had chronic dental problems that we were able to help with an antibiotic in a yummy banana flavour.

22.01.2022 We are very happy to be able to help Jura, the cheetah. Jura has eosonophillic oesophagitis, a condition of severe inflammation of the oesophagus. The oesophagus connects the mouth to the stomach making eating or drinking extremely painful. We compounded her anti inflammatory steroid medication in a thick oily mixture to coat her oesophagus to protect it and to have a longer lasting effect than a thin liquid. We hope she is recovering and eating well.

21.01.2022 All our staff have been offered free flu shots to help keep them as healthy as possible over the next few months. Here’s Dean from Woden getting his jab today - he didn’t wince a bit! Thanks to Kylie and Colette from Chemart Ainslie for helping the Club arrange this.

21.01.2022 <> This is an anti inflammatory moisturiser we created in our own on-site compounding laboratory. It works well on sore, dry, inflamed, itchy, cracked, irritated skin. Suitable for paediatric eczema use as well.Come in store to try it -> Hello ... Thanks again for your amazing lip cream (the one made with olive oil, glycerin and water). As promised here is my review: This cream is magic. Ive tried practically every lip balm in existence but nothing helps my lips long-term. When I started using this cream, my lips were cracked, sore, red and very painful. Within four hours of using the cream, my lips were visibly a little better. Within three days my lips were completely healed and felt perfect. I carry this cream with me everywhere now and have a back up jar just in case I misplace the other one!

15.01.2022 Jaffa is a Tibetan spaniel. Historically these dogs were working dogs for the Tibetan monks in their monasteries. These dogs with their sharp eyesight were stationed at the parapets of the monastery. They would warn the mastiff guard dogs at the gates and walls of the monastery of approaching enemies before all else knew. Jaffa is 8 years old and suffers from spindle cell cancer. She has her pain medication compounded with us so she is more comfortable. You can follow her cancer journey on Instagram @ jaffa_jaffs
