25.01.2022 Is your child starting kindy at C&K next year? Here's a tip from our #CandKcollab friend Arran ~ "The teachers are there to help you! Remember your hat, drink bottle, lunchbox, sunscreen, and have fun!" @thepurdies #LoveCandK #TipsForKindyFriends

23.01.2022 I’m so excited to share that the episode of Play School , Sea & Space, on which I was a guest will be airing next Tuesday 28th July @ 9am (AEST) on the ABC Australia network. https://www.abc.net.au//shows/play-/sea-and-space/12476944

23.01.2022 Aunty Lorna McQuire, Born 1939 at age 81 she's a absolute treasure. A Dharumbal woman who's lived on country her entire life, remarkably enough it's her first t...ime ever being painted up, it took 81yrs for this to happen. She told me at her age she still learns about her culture we are never to old to learn. She grew up in a little place just outside Rockhampton called Joskaleigh with all her South Sea Islander side of her family, but also acknowledging her Aboriginal family and Dharumbal connection. She grew up eating bush foods that her father hunted, Ducks, ibis, fish, birds, kangaroo, wallabies, she believes this diet is why she's had longevity in her life. Her knowledge of family & history is impeccable, as being the oldest in my family and possibly oldest Dharumbal person our yarns on this particular day had left me memorised, amongst our yarns was plenty of laughter. This young lady had me in stitches as we talked about family & country. I took my daughter along to this shoot so she could meet Aunty Lorna and hear her stories of growing up on country. I remember Aunty saying to my daughter as we were leaving ' Don't walk past me now in the street come say hello I'm your mob ' That sums up Aunty Lorna for me a woman with strong family values and deep love for family. During the shoot Aunty Lorna turns to me and says Trent am I your oldest client?, I said no Aunty you're my oldest Elder. 81yrs is a incredible milestone for any person let alone being Aboriginal. With our life expectancy at a appalling rate, people like Aunty Lorna are absolute gift to us all. Aunty Lorna you're a amazing woman and I wish you well and thank you from the bottom of my heart. www.instagram.com/trentwhite_photo

20.01.2022 PAUSE & consider See beyond the mess! See beyond the painted hands! See beyond the splodged & painted vest! ... Look instead, at her intent, look at her concentration! Look at her engagement & well being. Look at her carefully working things out. Look at her exploring textures and nature. Look at her deep involvement & critical thinking! Look at the skills & competency Look at this moment & look at HER ! Instantaneously without thinking this entire magical opportunity for learning could immediately STOP, VANISH, halted & be LOST ! The words we speak can have a catastrophic impact on a child’s willingness to engage & continue. Their desire to carry on once the FLOW has been interrupted Come put an apron on please! WHY ? Do we see the mess before we truly SEE the CHILD Further reading from our blog. https://www.thecuriosityapproach.com//do-aprons-stop-a-chi
