22.01.2022 Very excited! In a huge coup for CanDo, we've been accepted for a poster presentation at the Clinical Oncology Society of Australia's Annual Scientific Meeting in November. This conference is one of the most prestigious on the calendar of the cancer sector, so we're thrilled to be included. Looking forward to meeting more partners and spreading the word of what CanDo can offer to patients going through treatment and beyond.

21.01.2022 The cost of cancer can impact families for many years. If carers need to quit work to look after their child they might never financially recover. CanDo doesn’t solve all the world’s problems, but it can help the helpers and give them some time back.

21.01.2022 Hi folks Very happy to now be included within the BCNA support pages, so more people can hear about our app! Don't forget it's free to download and use so spread the word!

21.01.2022 We're so happy when we're notified of CanDo seen out "in the wild" being recommended to patients through the credible organisations of the cancer sector that we've met and engaged with along the way. Most recently, CanDo was recommended in the Preparing for Chemotherapy booklet from Cancer Council NSW and recommended as a way to organise help, by Cancer Council Victoria. CanDo isn't a charity, but we run on the skinniest of shoestrings, with our founder, Rachael, bearing most... of the costs. In order to keep CanDo free for users and their support teams, we're out there looking for funding. We're growing by an average of 50 users every week, so we know there's more to do. If you'd like to help, please visit our website, where you'll find a link to our Paypal account. Every dollar helps us get to conferences, reach out to user groups, talk to cancer sector organisations, promote the app and pay for maintenance and upgrade of the app. www.candoapp.com.au With gratitude.

20.01.2022 We agree. Genetic markers are not a guarantee you will get cancer and you should not be discriminated against if you have one.

20.01.2022 We had a fantastic couple of days at #cnsa2019 with some great feedback and conversations with some wonderful people. If you’d like to continue the conversation, don’t be shy to say hi!

20.01.2022 We don’t know enough about the support systems and experiences of LGBTQI people with cancer or concerns of LGBTQI carers. Here’s your chance to participate in research to help BCNA learn more.

19.01.2022 CanDo is at the Cancer Nurses Society of Australia Congress of Australia in Melbourne! If you’re attending come hear Rachael speak about turning empathy into action at 4.20pm, and don’t forget to say hello.

17.01.2022 Still time to add your voice to this survey!

16.01.2022 If you’re from a rural/regional area and have had cancer in the past five years, researchers want to hear from you. Check out the request here.

15.01.2022 Wanna talk about sex? If you’re a cancer survivor this study would like to hear from you.

14.01.2022 Let's be honest. Buying gifts for the holiday season is exhausting and can be bit of a minefield. There's too much pressure on buying the perfect gift! But what if I told you, you could avoid a tonne of stress and give something that you'll never regret and the recipient is guaranteed to love? CanDo tells you how.

13.01.2022 If you’re in Sydney, this evening next week (20th Feb), about issues surrounding breast cancer, may be of interest. RSVP in the link below.

13.01.2022 What was your experience with radiotherapy? Anything you wish you’d been told or could share with others? Here’s an opportunity to be heard.

11.01.2022 Despite rumours, going through cancer isn’t free. The financial toll is a lot more than the cost of scans and medication.

10.01.2022 Very excited to announce that CanDo will be presented at the Cancer Nurses Society of Australia Congress, in late June. Nurses are the frontline of cancer care and so important to connect services to those in need. CanDo is happy to be providing benefit in this space, but we need help to keep providing it. Cancer is expensive, both for patients and service providers. We think CanDo can help with that. Please get in touch if your organisation or company want to help us tur...n empathy into action! Learn more about this important event, here and if you're in Melbourne or attending the congress please stop by and say hello.

09.01.2022 In some countries there are laws to protect people against genetic discrimination. Not so in Australia. This moratorium is an interesting step in the right direction, but know your rights and how to ensure you are treated fairly.

06.01.2022 Interesting policy announcements made within the opposition’s reply to the budget tonight. These changes if implemented could enormously benefit a lot of people facing financial stress or limited access to non-PBS medications, while also undergoing treatment for cancer. What did you think of Bill Shorten’s speech?

02.01.2022 If you’ve had cancer in the past five years, take a moment to help researchers by completing this survey.

01.01.2022 It's Good News Friday, and this is indeed good news, with the Australian government creating new Medicare item numbers to help cover the costs of MRIs and PET scans, for people with breast cancer. The out-of-pocket costs of these scans can be out of the reach of many, but as knowledge is power, so vital to learn more about the progression (or regression!) of the disease. These changes to Medicare take effect from November 1 2019.

01.01.2022 If you're in Melbourne, and a young woman with breast cancer, here's a chance to share your thoughts.
