21.01.2022 I would like to say a big thank you to Louise Gilby and ARC. Candy's Family Day Care is proud to be asked to be the Central West hub for collection and distribution of much needed supplies for our local wild life carers. I have received hundreds of pouches and pouch liners from as far away as Canada. I have also received medical supplies teats bottles and formulas. With the drought fires and now floods our wild life and their carers need all the help we can ...get. Thank you Canada from the bottom of our hearts. If you know of any wild life carers please share this post with them and have them contact me. I have already given many pouches and supplies out and have many more coming so please don't be shy, we are here to help. Thank you Canada xxx See more

17.01.2022 ECA FAQsIf a family choose to keep their child at home for the next several weeks, can I waive the gap fee? No, the law does not allow you to waive the gap fee.... From the Child Care Provider Handbook: ‘A key principle and requirement under Family Assistance Law is that all parents who receive Child Care Subsidy (CCS) should make a co-contribution to their child care fees’. The Australian Government has changed the law to enable early learning and care services to waive the gap fee only if services are instructed by authorities to shut down because of COVID-19. The waiver cannot be applied while the service is still open. ECA is asking the government to apply the gap fee waiver now, to assist families and services to maintain enrolments. For parents and carers who choose to keep their child at home, the government has extended the period of allowable absences to 62 days (up from 42 days) in the financial year 2019-2020. This change is scheduled to take effect around 19 April. In addition, parents are no longer required to provide a medical certificate to claim additional absences (on top of the 62 days). We understand your concerns, and would like to keep you informed and up to date of the steps we taking to be responsive to these concerns. Our priority is always the safety and wellness of our children, educators and families, and together we will be taking preventative action in line with our service's Infection Control Policy. At Central West Family Day Care we will be doing: * We are asking our families to please keep your child home if anyone in your home is experiencing symptoms associated with COVID-19. These symptoms include; sore throat, frequent cough, fatigue, high temperature (above 38degrees) and shortness of breath. * In additional we ask that your child does not attend care, if you have a family member or anyone they have been in contact with is in quarantine for testing- then once cleared, children can return to care. * Any child who displays the symptoms associated with COVID-19 during care will be sent home and will require a doctor certificate to return to care. * We have increased our instructions for children to wash hands and have added additional signage to our Family Day Care office on how to correctly do so. These signs are also being distributed to our educators to display within their service. * Tissues, hand sanitizer and hand washing facilities are available through out our office and each educators service. * Educators will wipe down and clean surfaces with antibacterial/disinfectant regularly. * We will exclude for 14 days all people who have recently travelled overseas in line with NSW Health guidelines. * We will exclude children from care that have been in contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19 for 14 days since last contact in line with NSW Health guidelines. Our educators who are unwell with flu-like symptoms or respiratory illness will have their services closed until symptoms are resolved, in line with service policy procedures.
