19.01.2022 #CanonChallenge - FOOD in MOTION This weeks Canon Challenge thanks to community member Megann Evans Photography, is to photograph one of your favourite meals or drinks in motion. "I love food in motion. It has captured my soul and when Im on a shoot I cant help myself from directing the clients to a pour a glass of wine or a chef to do a drizzle just for me. I get giddy over dry ice (that is just heaven) and love a good splash! The freezing of the motion breathes life into ...the images you take and gives a sense of reality and heart to an already incredible photo." Take a look through the gallery for some of Meganns top food photography tips.

18.01.2022 #CANONCHALLENGE - MILKY WAY COMPOSITIONS This week you have been challenged by community member Ari Rex to go out and capture unique and well composed images of the Milky Way. "We are so lucky to live in Australia as it has some of the best views of the Milky Way on earth. We can see the most impressive part of the Milky Way most nights of the year and now is the best time for photographing it. ... My challenge to you is to photograph a nightscape that includes the Milky Way core and a foreground subject. It can be a nice field, a great rock formation, a man made object or even a human figure. You can use whichever techniques you wish. I would love to see great compositions." Post your entries in the comments below!

14.01.2022 #CANONCHALLENGE - As the weathers warming up we are sure many of you are eager to head to the beach and capture some shots of our beautiful Australian coastline. So this weeks Canon Challenge comes from community member Cru Scanlan - Photography - Slow Shutter Speed Seascape Photography I personally love to use slow shutter speeds to capture the water flow of waves as they crash against the shore. It helps to create a sense of motion in the image and simplify the scene of... distracting elements. The key is to find an exposure length that smooths out the texture of the water surface without losing the definition of the waves. Shot on a Canon EOS 80D - ISO 100 | F/18 | 1/5s | 10mm Drop your images in the comments below and be sure to include your shot info and gear!

09.01.2022 Photography has the power to: transcend culture and geography; to make audiences stop, think, and ask questions; and to tell a story. Each year, World Press Photo champions the power of photojournalism by raising public awareness and driving discussions about important issues and moments they have captured that have defined our society in the past year. At Canon, were committed to supporting, servicing and backing press photographers - whether they are based in Australia or... overseas - to capture these pivotal moments. This year we are proud to be a generous supporter of The State Library of New South Wales to bring the worlds best photojournalism to Australians in even the most challenging of circumstances. Be sure to click through this gallery to get a taste of the incredible stories on display. 07.01.2022 #CANONCHALLENGE - Mirror, Mirror on the Floor This week you have been challenged by community member Ivy Xu to experiment with reflections. With COVID restrictions, it can be very frustrating when you cant venture off to far away places. ... Sometimes, you dont have to go far to explore new perspectives. All you have to do is lower your camera down to ground level and you get a whole different angle, sometimes something magical." Post your entries in the comments below!
