24.01.2022 CAPE YORK TRAVEL UPDATE: Cook Shire Council and most other Cape York shires will be open to visitors from Queensland at midday today, Friday 3rd July. Northern Peninsula Area Regional Council - NPARC, Wujal Wujal Aboriginal Shire Council & Torres Shire Council will keep their borders CLOSED until further notice. Next week these councils will hold a meeting to reassess these restrictions and make a decision on reopening to unessential travellers. Keep in mind these restricti...ons and conditions are changing daily. We suggest to wait until a reopen date has been set to make booking with us. We will post an update as soon as we know further developments. 20.01.2022 With so much confusion and misinformation out there, we thought we attempt to clear things up a little and try and explain the layout and current restrictions i...n Cape York to those who are a little unsure. Cape York is Open Cape York is the land mass from approximately Cairns across to Karumba and all the area north of this line, all the way to the Tip of Australia. Cape York consists of a number of separate shires/councils/areas.
