24.01.2022 Came across this beauty by chance whilst travelling on a back road the other night. #astro #astrophotography #lightpainting #canoneosr #samyang14

23.01.2022 Some of the images taken on my inaugural Nightscape Images Workshop. I learned a lot from the a great teacher, had some wholesome meals & met some wonderful people.

22.01.2022 Some further Astrophotography images taken last night after trialing my new wide angle lens...Still some fine tuning & settings to get right, but getting there.

21.01.2022 Who can resist the clear nights for astro photography....not wanting to miss the last opportunists to capture the milky way before it disappears this year, I ventured to Cairn Curran Reservoir & discovered the milky way core was aligned with the railway viaduct. Light painting of the viaduct from 14 separate images & background of 10 images stacked in Sequator. All blended in Photoshop. #astro #astrophotography #lightpainting #canoneosr #samyang14

20.01.2022 Prior to the COVIT-19 shutdowns, I ventured out into the darkness to photograph a few new sites where the milky way was in a suitable spot. With the owners permission, here is Degraves Mill in Kyneton. I did want to return & get it with the milky way to side side, but the virus restrictions prevented my return. #astro #astrophotography #lightpainting #canoneosr #samyang14

18.01.2022 Light painting of an old bluestone 'Pear Tree' cottage, believed to be constructed around 1880 for part of the former telegraph network. Created from 15 separate images ( F11, ISO 640, 20 sec ) & single background image ( F2.8, ISO 6400, 20 sec ). All blended in Photoshop. #astro #astrophotography #lightpainting #canoneosr #samyang14

18.01.2022 Last night I ventured out to Lake Eppalock to spend some time testing a multitude of settings on my camera ( ISO, Aperture & Time ), trying many combinations to see which was the sharpest & provided the best overall image. Still some fine tuning to go, but this was pretty good & relatively sharp result. NOTE: It is darker when viewed on a phone than what appears on the PC. #astro #astrophotography #canoneosr #samyang14

17.01.2022 Venturing to Taradale last night ( 19 10 2019 ), where I have made a few great local contacts, allowed me to further advance my night photography skills.

17.01.2022 Prior to the COVIT-19 shutdowns, I ventured out into the darkness to revisit a few sites where the milky way was in a better spot. Back to 'Pear Tree Cottage', a bluestone cottage used as part of the original telegraph line between Melbourne & Bendigo for couple of images. #astro #astrophotography #lightpainting #canoneosr #samyang14

15.01.2022 In the very early hours of this morning, I spent a couple of hours in the middle of nowhere & attempted my first astrological photo, with my new camera. Stitching about 10 separate images together we get this result. Not bad for the wrong lens & first attempt.

13.01.2022 No milky way, no moon, perfect for photographing a subject surrounded with lots of vegetation. Light painting of the timber trestle bridge at Pyalong in Victoria, constructed in 1889 for the Kilmore-Bendigo Railway Line Created from 25 separate images ( F11, ISO 640, 20 sec ) & single background image ( F2.8, ISO 6400, 25 sec ). All blended in Photoshop. #astro #astrophotography #lightpainting #canoneosr #samyang14

11.01.2022 Just another few images from last nights venture under the stars.

10.01.2022 Not happy with the Taradale Viaduct image taken a couple of nights ago, I returned to the Viaduct last night ( 24 10 2019 ) and got a better angle, this time with the milky way just above the viaduct ( taken just after astro dark time ). #astro #astrophotography #lightpainting #canoneosr #samyang14

09.01.2022 Another quick trip to Taradale last night ( 22 10 2019 ) to photograph a 100+ year old house & thought I would try & capture the Viaduct ( had to get close due to large trees that blocks a complete view ). Unfortunately the core of the milky way was behind the viaduct ( better try again a little earlier ). Amended image of the old house after brightening the subject & stacking the background in Sequator. #astro #astrophotography #lightpainting #canoneosr #samyang14

08.01.2022 An impressive image of mother nature taken late yesterday afternoon on 03 06 2019.

08.01.2022 I could not resist another trip out to the countryside for a short time under the stars, this time I took a mate along for the ride. A couple of quick shots, the moon was pretty dominant, even though it was a crescent moon.

07.01.2022 After days of seeing this guy in the garden, I had the camera ready & was finally able to capture it. Blue-faced Honeyeater pulling of the bark in search of a meal.

06.01.2022 Last night under clear Victorian sky's, I ventured to a old homestead ruins which I have wanted to photograph for over 20 years, I am pretty happy with the results. A big thanks to Richard Tatti of Nightscape Images for teaching me the skills. I think I payed attention! #astro #astrophotography #lightpainting #canoneosr #samyang14
