07.01.2022 During this time of restricted travel and social isolation don't forget your Caravan or Camper. The worst thing you can do is leave it to it's own devices. 1. Open the windows and doors to let fresh air in this will help reduce mould and stale smells. 2. Turn on your appliances and run them, unused appliances like Hot Water systems need to run around once a month. 3. Check you batteries, check their charge status and if they are getting a charge.... 4. Check you solar operation. 5. Check you brake safe battery it will need a charge. Plug in your vehicle and run a charge up the trailer plug. 6. If you have awning canvas rolled up in the van pull it out and give it some air in case it went back in wet. 7. Inspect your van for any water damage or signs of water leaks. 8. Is there any preventative maintenance you can do? A can of spray paint or some spray lube around stone chipped chassis can prolong the van's life. If you look after your van your van will look after you. Get to know your van so that you can maintain and make small repairs yourself.
