25.01.2022 KIDS SOCIAL 5v5 Last season's Kids Social Saturday comp was a huge success, with lots of kids taking part and having a ball (literally)! Kids Social 5v5 is for kids that want to play Saturday sport in a low-pressure, non-competitive environment where they can just enjoy being active while having fun. 21.01.2022 CFA GRADUATE Big congratulations to one of our OG’s, Nate Prien, who has just obtained a football and academic scholarship at Nudgee College starting next term. Nate has been with us for five years and we’ve seen him go from a talented 10 year old to a mature young man and quality footballer. It’s always sad but exciting to see our players move on, with Zenon saying: It’s been a great journey for me to see Nate develop into one of the best players in the region for h...is age. I have no doubt he will continue to impress with his character and attitude towards the game in this next chapter. Go get ‘em Natey!

20.01.2022 GOLD COAST And that’s another year of travel done and dusted for the Football Queensland SAP and TSP program. This weekend our TSP boys and girls played in final state carnival for 2020 on the Gold Coast and had some quality games against great opposition. Next weekend we’ll complete the program with a clinic in Cairns with coaches from Brisbane and say farewell to a great year of football for these talented SAP and TSP players. Great to have had Zenon’s ex teammate, former Socceroo Jason Culina, join the U14 Boys for a chat about what it takes to be a professional footballer. Jason played at two World Cups and is a Golden Generation Socceroo so it was great to have him share some words of wisdom with our players.

17.01.2022 FLASHBACK! Its clean-out Sunday in the Caravella household and unbeknownst to us, our girls were hiding this old brochure in their toy area! Now this is what you call a flashback! Fresh from Zenon’s (first) retirement, we whipped up this brochure to promote ‘Caravella Coaching’ way back in 2014. Little did we know only a few months later, Zenon would re-sign for the Newcastle Jets and play another year in the A-League. In 2015 we were back and Caravella Football Academy was born!

14.01.2022 RANTUCCI! Another emotional day for us at CFA, where we farewell another Caravella OG as he accepts a sports scholarship position at Ipswich Grammar and moves to Brisbane for 2021. Luke Rantucci came to us as a dynamic and talented nine year old way back in 2015. He came from a warm, Italian family from Mareeba who wanted the best for him and so they travelled up and down the range several times a week for every year he was at CFA without a single break. Luke loved to trai...n and they were happy to support him. They always told us, while the travel was hard on the family, they did it so that one day he would be ready to spread his wings as a footballer. That time is now! Luke has achieved many things - including going on almost every football trip! - while at CFA including but not limited to: Part of the Championship winning CFA squad Futboltec International 2017 (Sydney) Part of the CFA Japan squad that came 3rd place in the Yanmar Cup (Japan) 2017 Golden Boot Far North QLD Youth Cup Selected for Queensland Country for Football Queensland Nationals Golden Boot this year for Stratford Dolphins Football Club in the Colts Division (U16) with over 20 goals despite still only being 14. Of Rantucci, Head Coach Zenon Caravella has the following to say: "I have had to pleasure of watching Luke grow into a fantastic young man and quality player that is not only enjoying his football but is excelling in the game. He's a genuine "X-factor player" that skips past players with ease and scores some sensational goals. Luke is a very dangerous attacking player and while it is emotional to see him graduate from the academy after all these years, it's his time and I can't wait to see what's next from him."
