21.01.2022 Busy week here at CarCraft Mobile Mechanics, the highlight would have to be Brett and Melissas Beautiful LC Torana! One of my favorite early Holden models! The work undertaken was an automatic to manual transmission conversion with a Malwood kit installed with concentric slave cylinder upgrade and remote mounted fluid reservoir. Tricky job with lots of critical measurements required for correct clutch operation, proud to report we got it right the first time Brett and Melissa have built a beautiful car and I'm proud to have helped in anyway to help get this beautiful car build a step closer to cruising!

10.01.2022 Just a helpful headsup to anyone out there that scammers are everywhere. Had a fake customer try to scam me today, claiming to be hearing impaired and needed work done to their car urgently. The car was apparently located in Nsw and needed towing to Qld as she had just moved here etc. I provided a quote for the made up work required and then the story gets interesting! They tell you to charge their credit card for the towing company and work required and forward part of that ...charge to the towing agency (ding ding alarm bells ringing) then the non existent car will arrive in a few days time for the booked in work. They say that they can't speak on the phone due to their current medical condition etc. It all seems very genuine up until the last story about the tow agency not having credit card facilities to process her tow, which they tried to tell me was $3800! Now I know for a fact that no tow company in Australia charges that much even from W.A to Qld but not everyone would pick up on this. Long story short be very vigilant with email quotes and scams if it seems suspect it probably is. Luckily these days it's not hard to do a quick google check and bingo heres your scam! 06.01.2022 Interesting job on this Fiat Ducato motorhome for our client Scotty at his home in Burleigh Heads. The water pump required replacing due to a collapsed bearing on the main shaft. The interesting part is that the water pump forms part of the top engine mount on the drivers side and is a completely cast iron part which is rare these days for a modern vehicle. It also made it a difficult job to complete due to the size and placement of the waterpump and the space available to r...emove it. As you can see in the third and fourth photos the waterpump impeller had sheared off the pump shaft (impeller was made from high temp plastic, great idea guys) luckily the broken piece didn't disintegrate and go thru the cooling system and add to the costs. Upon further diagnosis, I also found a seized belt tensioner that had become loose and snapped the rear part of its locating lug off into the block, which had to be drilled out with a special right angle drill adapter. Very labor intensive job but happy to have been able to complete in a reasonable time frame for our valued customer. It's now ready for another lap around Australia See more

02.01.2022 Well the weather didn't make this job easy today thanks mother nature Our customer Teagan Gouges Toyota Rav 4 had been diagnosed as a manual gearbox failure by another workshop and was quoted thousands to replace the part. Another opinion was sort from Carcraft Mobile Mechanics, and after a more thorough inspection was diagnosed as a worn gear linkage cable that wasn't allowing 1st, 3rd and 5th gear to be selected. After sourcing a new linkage from Toyota we had her back on the road and breezing thru the gears saving thousands on the previous diagnosis! We pride ourselves on going the extra mile to give our customers the correct diagnosis the first time potentially saving lots of hard earned money!
