24.01.2022 Fantastic Future We are so proud of Cody who has today signed up for a permanent part time position with Glenray, starting 2021. He has been attending Glenray for work experience this year and they were so impressed with his dedication and work ethic that they offered him an opportunity to begin his post school career. Cody is keen to progress to his provisional license and buy himself a vehicle with his earnings. Allison Couchman | Classroom Teacher

24.01.2022 NAIDOC WEEK 2020 This Week our students created an interpretation of the traditional form of Aboriginal rock by spraying our handprints on to a brick wall. Classes were invited to celebrate NAIDOC Week and acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which we play and learn, the peoples of the Wiradjuri nation; and engage with this year’s NAIDOC theme: #AlwaysWasAlwaysWillBe Aimee Sutton ATSI Committee

17.01.2022 Our students feature in Operation Art Congratulations to 4 students from Carenne who will be exhibiting their artworks in Westmead Children’s Hospital Operation Art. You will see their names listed below each art work. Initially these artworks will be part of an exhibition at Sydney Olympic Park from October 15th till November 15th. They will then be added to the many wonderful artworks at Westmead Children’s Hospital. A great number of our families from our school have ...spent many stressful days sitting by their child’s bedside as our family has. Looking at the Artworks in the hospital when you are feeling low is a truly uplifting experience and makes your time is hospital much more tolerable. Thanks to Miss Moore for her organisation with this project and congratulations to the students involved. Janelle Kemp Facebook Committee

14.01.2022 Aussie Backyard Bird Count Class 7 had so much fun participating in the annual Aussie Backyard Bird Count! We managed to spot swallows, blackbirds, willie wagtails, mynas and have a very healthy population of magpies! Our results have been sent off to Birdlife Australia to be collated in a national database to identify bird species, their populations and locations across Australia. This wonderful event allowed Class 7 students to become citizen scientists connecting with the... natural world by identifying the range of birds we have in our school yard. We had a lot of fun and look forward to doing it again next year! #AussieBirdCount Dezarae Bastow | Assistant Principal
