13.01.2022 JOB OPPORTUNITY Operation Christmas Child (OCC), a project of Samaritans Purse, is one of the worlds largest child evangelism projects. In 2019 OCC AU/NZ collected over 273,000 gift filled shoeboxes to hand deliver to children in developing countries, demonstrating Gods love and sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ through well-developed evangelism and discipleship programs such as The Greatest Journey. We are seeking to appoint someone to lead and oversee the Operation... Christmas Child (OCC) project in Western Australia (located in Perth). This is a short-term position until mid-December, working with the OCC team of volunteers to coordinate this years shoebox collection. You will oversee all OCC activity, ensuring that the program objectives are met whilst fostering a fun Christian environment. To perform this job successfully, an individual must maintain a personal relationship with and be a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, be self-starting and goal oriented, as well as able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily. Able to oversee and manage all logistics movements within Western Australia including the effective distribution of materials, equipment and paraphernalia as required for operations Oversee the network of OCC drop-off points around Western Australia Ensure that the drop-off points and relay centres are operated safely, carrying out any tasks that are pertinent to their operation Engage and oversee transport nodes for movement of all materials, equipment and Boxes are required Working with National Office staff, setting-up and overseeing the effective operation an OCC Seasonal Processing Centre including: Assist with all aspects of the procurement of seasonal Processing Centres including connection of utilities, etc Set-up the Warehouse for Processing Duties and Sea Container Management Recruit an effective Volunteer Processing Team to lead and assist during processing Lead volunteers to effectiveness Oversees the regular affairs of OCC, and the effective promotion, staff coordination, collection, logistics, processing and sending of OCC shoeboxes and donations to set OCC guidelines and WH&S standards.
