25.01.2022 For those coming to exchange toys tomorrow, 21 July and Saturday, 25 July there will be a reception table at the library entrance, accessible via the car park. (1) please go directly to the table at the library entrance. Only 20 persons on site at any time. (2) give your name to the volunteer, sanitise hands and answer the COVID 19 contact tracing questions.... (3) place returned toys to the left of the reception table. (4) if you are a current member proceed to the photos of the toys. If you need to renew or are a new member, join the library at the at the reception table. (5) choose photos of toys you wish to borrow, but only handle the ones you decide to borrow. (6) the librarians will collect the toys and sign them out on your behalf, then continue straight to exit the back of PCYC near the Lifeline bins

19.01.2022 As you will be aware COVID-19 has now been declared a pandemic. We recognise the need to play our part in slowing down the spread of the virus and protecting our communitys health. So we request that if youre experiencing any cold/flu-type symptoms please DO NOT attend the toy library. Also, if you have travelled overseas to affected areas or have been in close contact with a confirmed case of coronavirus, please allow 14 days before visiting the toy library. Email us to ar...range an extension on toys if you are self-isolating. Should we need to close the toy library as directed by the government or due to volunteers being unwell we can assure you that . Toys will not need to be returned until the toy library reopens. While you continue to borrow which we encourage you to do here are some steps recommended by health authorities to reduce your risk of coronavirus * Regularly and thoroughly wash your hands with soap and water (for at least 20 seconds) or clean them with an alcohol-based hand rub. * Maintain at least 1 metre distance between yourself and anyone who is coughing or sneezing. * Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth, or shaking hands with others. * Cover your mouth and nose with your bent elbow or tissue when you cough or sneeze, and disposing of used tissues immediately. * Stay at home if you feel sick. Phone your GP first if you need medical attention. They will advise you what to do. Toy cleaning * It is always members responsibility to clean borrowed toys before returning them to the toy library. Instructions for cleaning toys can be found at www.toylibraries.org.au/cleaning- toys * Please do not come into the toy library to return toys if you or a member of your household is exhibiting flu/cold-like symptoms. The toy library will extend the borrowing period for the toys on loan, just let us know. * After a sickness in your household, please thoroughly clean and disinfect all toys before they are returned to the toy library. Let the toy library know of the illness in your household so that toys can be further isolated.

18.01.2022 Cancelled - Toy Library Cancelled Today We have decided to Cancel Toy Library for Today Decision due to the rain. We had been watching the forecasts, however have decided this morning there is still to much rain about.... Aug dates confirmed are Aug 3, Aug 18 and Aug 29. We need to check with PCYC if we can schedule another Sat early Aug, will confirm that later. Sorry for short notice, apologies to anyone who misses the email and drives to PCYC.

18.01.2022 For up-coming borrowing days, these are held 2 or 3 days each month from 9:30am to 11:30am meeting behind the Carindale PCYC. Nov 2020 - Mon 2, Tue 17 and Sat 28. Dec 2020 - Mon 7, Tue 15. For Dec we don’t have a Sat borrowing day. Jan 2021 we are closed (reopen in Feb 2021).

17.01.2022 We also have a growing number of overdue borrowers with some now at 12 months. Valuable time is being spent trying to chase down these overdues. We would appreciate if overdue toys can be returned as soon as possible. Please contact us if there are any issues so we can see how we can help.

10.01.2022 We are pleased to announce that due to easing of COVID restrictions, the Carindale Toy library will reopen and the first borrowing day is Tuesday 21 July, 2020, 9.30a to 11.30a. New Toy Library members can sign up at any of our borrowing days using cash or direct debit. How much does it cost?... 2 month trial: $10* 6 month: $20* 12 month: $40* * All members are required to pay a bond of $25 which will be refunded at the end of your subscription if all toys are returned in 4 weeks with all pieces intact, clean, and in working order, in the provided toy bag. A reminder that it is members responsibility to clean borrowed toys before returning them to the toy library. 08.01.2022 Closure Carindale Toy Library COVID-19 We have made the decision to close the Carindale Toy Library till at least the end of April 2020, including the cancellation of all borrowing days. We will review the situation at the end of April. In May the first date on our borrowing calendar is Tue 12th May, this would be the next borrowing day should we be in a position to reopen.... As this closure is significant, the membership terms of all current members will be extended by the eventual duration of the closure. For all current members we are also extending current loans, so toys do not need to be returned until the toy library reopens. We ask for your support and cooperation to look after toys on loan and to return toys to Carindale Toy Library once we can reopen (and most importantly make sure your kids have fun playing with those toys in the meantime!). Please do not try to leave toys at the Carindale PCYC as they will not accept them.

Once we are in a position to reopen, we will advise via email and also post here on facebook. We have just sent an email out to members with more details (if you are a member and didn't receive the email, please send your details to [email protected] and we will add you in).

05.01.2022 We have arranged tomorrow Sat 1 Aug as an extra borrowing day, 9:30am to 11:30am. This replaces the cancelled Sat in July. Brisbane South has an evolving COVID-19 situation as many will know. - At this stage we are going ahead with borrowing days. In the event of a cancellation we aim to email and update Facebook by 7:30am on the borrowing day. - Please make extra sure to stay home if anyone might be sick.... - We do ask everyone to take extra care regarding our new operating processes including Toy cleaning prior to return.
