16.01.2022 Contact Caring for You to express your interest in taking part in the COVID-19 vaccine national roll-out from late February until October 2021. With the exciting news that the national roll-out of COVID-19 vaccines will begin from Monday 22 February, Caring for You looks forward to the opportunity to have our nurses involved in the vaccine roll-out in Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland in GP-clinics, residential aged care facilities and hospitals. If you are a Register...ed Nurse without National Immunisation Program certification or an Enrolled Nurse, you will be able to administer COVID-19 vaccinations under the direction of a GP, if you have undertaken the Federal Department of Health’s COVID-19 training. These nurses will be primarily used in general practice settings. If you are a Registered Nurse with National Immunisation Program certification AND you have completed the Federal Department of Health COVID-19 training, then you will be able to administer COVID-19 vaccinations independently, without the direction of a GP. These nurses will be primarily used in mass vaccination hubs, workplaces, industry, councils and residential aged care facilities. All RNs and ENs must have completed the Federal Department of Health’s COVID-19 training. There are six modules plus the Pfizer module, with the Astra-Zeneca module to be made available shortly.
