20.01.2022 Hello Carinya Community Please be advised Aged Care Direction #16 has been released over the weekend in regards to the Sydney situation. What's changed from 1am AEST 19 December 2020?... Visitors, staff and volunteers are not allowed to enter a facility if they have been in a COVID-19 hotspot in the last 14 days or since the hotspot was declared (whichever is shorter). 17.01.2022 Dear Carinya Community With Christmas and New Year fast approaching I would like to encourage families and friends to visit loved ones if they are able to. Whilst it is important to practice good hygiene practices it is not mandatory at present to have a flu vaccination.... Carinya has set hours where visitors are able to sign in and be screened including a temperature check, there is no time limit on how long you can stay and please remember to sign out when leaving. Times when our reception will be manned over the Christmas period are below visitors are asked to adhere to these times as much as possible and if outside these hours please call first to ensure we know you will be coming. Wednesday to Friday 16th 18th December 9am - 4.30pm Saturday 19th December 10am until Midday Sunday 20th December 10am until Midday Monday to Thursday 21st 24th December 9am until 4.30pm Friday 25th December 9am until 2pm Saturday 26th December 10am until midday Sunday 27th December 10am until midday Monday 28th December 10am until midday Tuesday to Thursday 29th 31st December 9am - 4.30pm Friday 1st January 10am until Midday Thank you and Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. A visit from teacher, Kieran and her 2 little ones, with gifts for residents, kindly made by students from Atherton State School. What a treat A special thankyou in appreciation for our crazy Monday volunteers. In the afternoon, the long awaited Carinya Choir Christmas Concert....it's beginning to look and sound a lot like Christmas

07.01.2022 Hello all As per the below from the Queensland Premier this morning, the current restriction on aged care facilities such as ours will continue for another 14 days. This extension also continues the requirement for all to continue wearing a mask while on site here.... While this is not the news I would like to be sharing, please be assured that we are providing our best care to our residents during this time.
