18.01.2022 What we know so far * Brisbane are in talks with Carlton about swapping picks as Brisbane want to move up the list as they are only having a few picks at the draft * Saad will be at the Blues in 2021 and has told the Bombers he will never play for them again, after they up their offer. As he doesn’t have a contract at the Bombers he can leave and go to the PSD * Cripps will sign a new deal before the season starts min 3 years ... * Kennedy is the only player that we haven’t signed yet that we need, but I’m sure he is staying a Blue and just waiting until after list sizes are done * We are still looking at one more B grade player midfielder or small forward * We still have around 600,000 to use * We are not looking at Treloar as the same problems would be with us if he stays in Melbourne * We are not trading our first round pick for next year, as we will need it for a big go at one player next year * Austin is going to be a big player in lots of trades coming up. * Jack Silvagni will only leave the Blues if another club offered him a longer term deal * Everyone has said that Dow is staying at the Blues * No one has shown any interest in McGovern or O’Brien, yet * Trades end Thursday Nov 12th #blues2021 See more

15.01.2022 Charlie Curnow How we see it all working from here and the news is not all bad. Curnow had surgery after dislocating his right knee cap playing basketball last year before fracturing his patella walking on a tiled staircase a month later.... Curnow underwent surgery in March and had his season drawn to a premature close by April, with his last game in the navy blue coming in Round 15 last year 2019. Dr Larkins said Curnow’s patella will never look the same again on any scan or any X-ray he has for the rest of his life. Dr Larkins added that Curnow may need to alter the way he trains for the remainder of his career. I am concerned about his ability to absorb AFL training loads, Dr Larkins said. CHARLIE Curnow hopes a new specialist can finally solve his knee problems after yet another setback during a kick-to-kick session with his brother Ed. Carlton Football Club confirmed the latest problem is a stress injury to his patella - he has hurt his right knee a number of times since 2016. He went under the knife this week after consulting a new fracture specialist who is confident he can solve Curnow’s issues. The specialist is understood to have identified several ways to fix Curnow’s recurring problems. He is believed to have told the player that the wires were taken out of his knee too early last year before Curnow suffered a hairline stress response in April. More info will be known next week, as to how everything went, but by early reports the Dr was happy. It is hoped Curnow’s latest setback will keep him sidelined for only two -three months. Curnow has played 58 games and has kicked 77 goals since being drafted to the Blues in 2015. #blues2021

09.01.2022 Out-of-contract Carlton Football Club midfielder Matt Kennedy was delisted from the senior list with the promise of being re-rookied by the Blues. Under the new rules $80,000 of each standard rookie's contract falls outside the salary cap so this works well for Kennedy and the blues, who will also sign Cripps and McKay on long term contracts. THE CARLTON Football Club can confirm that it has today retained Matthew Kennedy on its rookie list for the 2021 season.... The AFL today announced that clubs are able to move two senior players to their rookie list effective immediately. This means that the Club will be able to re-contract Kennedy onto the Blues’ rookie list without needing to wait until this year’s NAB AFL Rookie Draft. In further news as a result of this ruling, Eddie Betts has also agreed to be placed onto the rookie list with Kennedy in order to ensure the Club will not need to make any further list changes to its current playing list. The details of Betts contract remain unchanged and both he and Kennedy will continue to be available for senior selection during the 2021 AFL season. The AFL will officially approve new rookie contracts on Monday 30 November and has already committed to the blues for 2021. Carlton Football Club Fans So under the new rule, they will be able to be confirmed as rookies for the Blues from December 1 and avoid going into the Rookie Draft on December 10. #blues2021

08.01.2022 Shocking news Carlton Football Club forward Charlie #Curnow will undergo surgery tomorrow after sustaining a stress injury to his patella. The 23-year-old injured his right patella last week while completing his rehabilitation program. Head of Football, Brad Lloyd confirmed this is the same knee that Curnow had surgery on in April. Charlie’s patella has been complicated by this current stress injury, however whilst he has been able to continue with his rehabilitation progra...m, his specialist orthopaedic surgeon feels that surgery to reinforce the area of bone stress will hasten his return to training and minimise the risk of further injury. We’re fully supportive of this approach and will continue to support Charlie through his recovery process. The Club will provide further comment following the surgery.

05.01.2022 THE Carlton Football Club is pleased to confirm the rescheduled 2020 John Nicholls Medal will be held on Saturday 6 February 2021 at Crown Melbourne Palladium.
