21.01.2022 ZF 6 SPEED OIL COOLER UPGRADE: If you own a late model 6 speed automatic FORD FALCON (or territory), you are running the risk of having the original transmission oil cooler fail. The original cooler uses engine coolant to cool the transmission fluid as it flows through separate tubes in the cooler. We have seen many standard coolers fail and cause coolant to mix with the transmission oil. Once this happens, it destroys the transmission. It will then need to be overhauled which costs thousands of dollars. It is cheap insurance to have a separate bi-pass oil cooler fitted and the kits we stock are also more efficient than the original. Give us a call today to arrange an oil cooler upgrade to your 6 speed auto and rest easy.

17.01.2022 This is what the inside of an engine looks like without regular servicing. The oil has deteriorated and turned into a hard sludge which has led to a major internal failure.

16.01.2022 TOYOTA PRADO 1KD DIESEL with a missfire and no compression on number 2 cylinder. Cracked piston was the culprit. Now with a reco engine and new injectors fitted, its driving like new once again.

16.01.2022 Another single mass flywheel clutch kit conversion. Definitely worth considering as they are a much more cost effective option over the expensive dual mass flywheels. The old clutch (pictured) could handle no more.

16.01.2022 Ball joints that cannot be greased are not supposed to have any free play movement. This KUN26R HILUX lower ball joint is excessively worn and requires replacement. Worn steering and suspension joints are unsafe and unroadworthy. Checking these joints are a part of our routine logbook service.

14.01.2022 A couple of interesting vehicles we recently had in for transmission services. Great to see!

14.01.2022 This customer was lucky to have not had a serious accident while driving with these brakes. There is a lot of mechanical workshops, tyre shops and mobile mechanics tempting people with cheap services these days, where they are just changing the engine oil and filter and calling that job done. The most important part of a service is to make sure the vehicle is safe and reliable, by performing a complete inspection and a detailed report. This near accident and expensive repair could have been avoided with proper routine servicing. The cheapest service isnt going to be a good service.

13.01.2022 Steve had the pleasure of rebuilding the transmission from this very tidy XC falcon recently. Its rare to see a standard, unmodified vehicle in such good condition these days. It brought back a lot of memories from when we used to rebuild many of these transmissions every week, when Steve started his apprenticeship with Carlyle Automatics 20 years ago. Im sure the owner will enjoy many more years turning heads with this classic vehicle.

11.01.2022 Own a D40 NAVARA 2.5 diesel? Upgrade to a double row injector pump chain kit to prevent unwanted chain failures. Kit comes with all guides, upgraded hydraulic tensioners, chains and new required gears. The injector pump chain (lower) is driven by the crankshaft and then drives the camshafts. (Upper)

09.01.2022 Another late Friday night finish but well worth the effort. Just finished a brake upgrade on a classic V8 HZ Holden ute. How sexy is the new Wilwood kit with billet hubs, cross drilled rotors, 4 piston calipers and braided lines?

06.01.2022 Zac removing a V6 intake manifold to replace the cracked gaskets beneath. This vehicle had coolant leaking into the sump and contaminating the engine oil...... Not anymore though.

04.01.2022 6 SPEED AUTO FALCON/ TERRITORY: How long do you intend to own your vehicle? A vehicle with a faulty transmission isnt worth much to you or anyone else. A well maintained transmission can often outlast the rest of the vehicle, which is why we suggest regular transmission servicing. We stock the original plastic transmission sump/filter as well as the upgraded steel sump with separate filter for the 6 speed autos. A transmission service with the upgraded steel sump is much cheaper in the long run. (Rather than replacing the original sump/filter assembly every time the transmission is serviced.)
