The biggest reason being it guarantees you an income to cover expenses and that people are actually going to turn up!.... Pricing will depend on how many rides you have booked. Pre-selling armbands at a discounted rate will encourage people to buy early. Issue a receipt but don't hand out the armbands until the day of your event so they don't get lost. On the day set up a table or two depending on the size of your event. Split the tables into two alphabetic lines. Have two volunteers at each table. one to collect the receipts and cross off names and the other to put on the armband correctly, not to tight or to loose Make sure your guests get the most out of their time by opening up the armband stand an hour before the ride kickoff time. Think about how long six, eight or even ten hours really is to be up and running at full capacity? Set up, operate and pull down, it's a very long day.... "the longer people are here the more they will spend" It's just not the case. Families will spend what they have. Once the money runs out they will go home. They will spend just as much over 4-5 hours as they would over 8. Not to mention the safety concerns. Kids going full throttle for 4-5 hours straight will get very tired. When they get tired, they don't concentrate so perhaps do not fully comprehend the safety instructions. No selling or asking your friends and family for money. Is super fun Promotes community spirit Has real potential to raise money! With the approval of your school, sell the opportunity of painting the drop ceiling tiles throughout the classrooms and administrative buildings. Just imagine the colour, joy and individual personality this could bring to your school. The P&C only needs to provide the tiles and the painting supplies. Take reservations before the event (so you know how much paint to buy and the minimum number of tiles you will need) add on a few extra for tiles sold on the night. Charge a set amount per tile. The day before or the morning of the event, arrange to take down the appropriate number of tiles. Set up tips: Cover tables with paper to make clean up easier. Paper plates for mixing paint and cups of water for rinsing brushes. Inspirational, Positive, Supportive messages and stencils are a great way to create some amazing designs. Dont over soak the tiles in paint, or they become fragile. Use paint sparingly, let it dry between coats. Using hair dryers and fans will help speed up the drying process. Have each family mark the back of the tile with their name, date and phone number. They become like a time capsule. Be prepared for spills and clean ups. Having lots of paper towels around will come in handy! Allow the tiles to dry overnight. All thats left to do is to place the tiles back in the ceiling. The kids will love searching the school to find and show off their tiles. Proud to have left their mark on the school they love.
