22.01.2022 Back home to Bunbury enjoying my favourite hazelnut treat with my head full of amazing knowledge from the weekend - and my amazing new testing device! The Quadscan Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA) device. TGA registered as a medical device - so it's an accurate way to measure your body composition and cellular health. Used in conjunction with the Vitality, Longevity and health Aging (VLA) program, this has the ability to monitor results, keep you accountable, whilst enabling me to tweak your program for optimal results. If you would like to know more PM me.

20.01.2022 With this crazy weather - 38C yesterday and 21C on the weekend! It's a good time to start thinking about getting ready for the winter coughs and colds. We have already had a dose go through our house last weekend - man/boy flu is real! A few of my favourite things to do for boosting the immune system are - Sleep, and plenty of it. If you aren't getting a good 7-8 hours a night you may be putting your immune system under pressure. - Foods with zinc and vitamin C - both of ...these have been shown to reduce the symptoms and duration of the common cold. So keep up the capsicums, kiwi fruit, mango, brussel sprouts, pumpkin seeds, chickpeas and grass-fed beef. - Watch the sugar intake - sugar suppresses the immune system for a while after eating. - Finally although it sounds odd, keeping up the exercise (especially outdoor - vitamin D is a bonus!) helps us to stay healthy over winter, just don't over do it. Have a great Wednesday!

19.01.2022 For all the women out there getting ready for school holidays - make sure you take time out and have fun for yourself. We are amazing multi-taskers, but sometimes the stress of it all can add up!

18.01.2022 My office is set up and I’m back into work! Today is finalising our booklet for the Autumn Cleanse in Bunbury. With Easter so close (I had to get out my favourite Easter mug today!) I’m starting on the delicious Pukka Cleanse tea. The mix of nettle, fennel and peppermint is great for the liver and digestion. We are giving all our Cleanse team some these teas to enjoy during their week of clean eating and daily yoga. If you would like to join us you’ll need to act soon as we are closing on he 28th March - time to get booklets printed!

14.01.2022 It has been a while since I posted, but life has been taking over - along with a lot of boxes! We are on the final countdown to our move to Perth. In these past few weeks saying goodbye to many of my lovely clients, and people I see everyday around town has been sad. But I also know that I will still be coming down regularly as there are too many amazing friends we have made here to say goodbye for good! The next chapter will be exciting. I'm still in the process of setting up the new clinic in Subiaco, and I'm hoping to be open in February. Also lots of new ideas for keeping healthy in 2018. So thank you Bunbury for an amazing 11 years! x

12.01.2022 Sunday at WA Surf Lifesaving States comp. it was so cold when we arrived, but now the sun is out the sunscreen is needed. I’m always on the lookout for a better alternative for sunscreen as we spend a lot of time at the beach. So far this one from 1,2,3 Nourish Me has not left me looking too much like a ghost and it’s not oily. Also the kids seem happy to wear it too - winning! My family has a history of melanoma so keeping the sun exposure under control is essential. Will ...let you know how a day in the sun and water goes! And I’m not getting paid or freebies - I just want to find products that work :)

12.01.2022 This week has been an emotional week - I have finally begun the process of letting all my lovely clients that I am moving, back to my home town of Perth in December. Bunbury has been a wonderful place, but family calls! I have been down here for 11 years and it has definitely been an amazing time. I have raised both my babies here and made lifelong friends. We will still be in the community with my husbands' work, but I will be in Perth with a new clinic in Subiaco opening... in February 2018. As much as I would love all my clients to come an visit me in Perth, I know thats not always possible and there are lovely Practitioners in Bunbury. Just let me know if you would like a recommendation. So the next few months will be a busy time of clearing out the kids toys (it's amazing how it all multiplies!) packing, and getting ready to start a new adventure! Lots of new things to come :) See more

12.01.2022 New research into the success rates of IVF has been released and concludes that "....women starting IVF, 33% had a baby as a result of their first cycle, increasing to 54-77% by the eighth cycle." With the huge costs involved - emotional, physical and financial - it's worth taking the time make sure you are the healthiest you can be. Give your self at least 3 cycles of your period to prepare. Either for natural conception or IVF, it sets you up for the best chance of success. http://theconversation.com/women-now-have-clearer-statistic

11.01.2022 Have you escaped the cold these school holidays? We have and I have been thawing out whilst catching up on some podcasts. I loved this one from The Wellness Women on Hypothalamic Amenorrhea - if your period is missing in action there are some great tips to help bring back balance. https://www.facebook.com/thewellnesswomen/posts/1412616188832626:0

10.01.2022 Happy 2018! The past few weeks have been a blur of boxes and celebrations which have left me feeling ready to take a break from the holiday excesses. So I’m spending a little more time near the ocean and swapping the cheese platter for veggie sticks. Plans for setting up my new office have begun along with changing up my website! (New look to match my new location!) My focus has always been helping people take control of their health and in particular supporting women with... their hormones and fertility. Hearing about their successes (I love the babies!) makes what I do worthwhile, and I can’t wait to begin again in Perth. I hope your 2018 is looking bright and sparkly too!

10.01.2022 An interesting show to watch tonight on gut health - we are still learning so much about its influence on more than just the digestion! http://www.sbs.com.au/news/insight/tvepisode/gut-feeling

10.01.2022 Looking for ways to get a bit of quiet time these holidays? Try meditation, there are a number of apps available to get you started, just 10 mins at a time. I love Headspace, Smiling Mind and a new one for me 1 Giant Mind. The benefits of just taking a little time out everyday include increased calm, lowering blood pressure, reducing anxiety and reducing the frustration with the kids! The last one might just be me :) Do you have any favourites?

07.01.2022 Does anyone use Manuka Honey? Looks like the research into its wound healing properties is catching up! https://theconversation.com/science-or-snake-oil-is-manuka-

06.01.2022 Post exercise green juice and a relaxing read. I’m looking forward to the Autumn Cleanse in a few weeks to reset some habits that have crept into my day (too many coffee’s!). Partnering up with Jo from The Treehouse Yoga is always fun and everyone that came to our previous Cleanses loved it. This time we are including a one day juice day - supplied by the local company The Juicer & Co. Great for giving the digestion a rest. If you’re keen to join us I will pop a link in the comments

05.01.2022 Balancing women's hormones can be a challenge. There are so many parts to consider - diet, lifestyle, family history, herbal and nutritive support. Something that can be overlooked is our environment. Hormone disrupting chemicals are found everywhere. In isolation they may be ok, as our body can cope with them and detox, but with the overload in everything we touch this can sometimes become an issue. This article from Aviva Romm has some great tips: https://avivaromm.com/hormone-disruptors/

04.01.2022 Feeding the gut! I love fermented foods, but sometimes I find that they are a little too much for an impaired digestive system to handle. So what are some good alternatives for feeding the gut? My favourites include garlic, leeks, kiwi fruits, fennel, chickpeas, lentils, cashew nuts and strawberries. I have popped a bigger list down on my website - http://www.vitalityandbalance.com.au//foods-for-the-microb

04.01.2022 So excited to be working with Jo from The Treehouse Yoga again! It's been a few years since we put together our seasonal Yoga Cleanse - but there is a new one coming soon for Bunbury! Time to clear out the Summer excess and transition into Autumn!

01.01.2022 Great news for the city center in Bunbury! It will make popping into clinic that bit easier. https://www.facebook.com/abcsouthwest/posts/10154546970001811:0

01.01.2022 A great checklist! Can you tick off most of these? I know there are some on this list that I still struggle with, but I also believe that being a work in progress is not a bad thing. https://www.mindbodygreen.com//19-signs-youve-finally-achi
