23.01.2022 Tom making use of the clubhouse to loft his new boat. It has been great to see so many members using our facilities over the Christmas break.

23.01.2022 Hi Folks, Just been pulling a few levers on this page. I think it's up and running again!

19.01.2022 Lorelei: in all her glory! Launched in 1959, bought by me in '83 and after spending many great times on the bay with her family, lost to nature in 2011, She now lies on the bottom of the Brisbane river in 15m of water. Triple crossed planked and red cedar from front to back, even the outer layer of planking was cedar, she was powered by a 280hp turbo charged diesel and with a Kort nozzle, Lorelei became well known on the bay for her power. Famously pulling the large training vessel South Passage off a sandbar in the Canaipa passage.

18.01.2022 Our members that paddle and row from the club for personal exercise are allowed to continue. Otherwise it's best to stay at home. Let's all try and stay safe during these uncertain times.

18.01.2022 After a very uncertain start to the year and further to the State government relaxation of the COVID 19 social distancing guidelines, it is with pleasure that the Commodore, management committee and members cordially invite you and your members to our annual Regatta The Carrington Classic. The Classic is an Annual Invitation Regatta held at our club situated upon the Brisbane River at Carrington Rocks within the Horrace Window Reserve Corinda. Come down to the club for a da...y of boating, BBQ, Entertainment and beverages. Festivities will continue throughout the day with static displays, live music The Clippers, food and drinks available for purchase, and the COVID CUP handicap dinghy race against the beautiful backdrop of the Sherwood reach of the Brisbane River. A small fee of $25 per vessel for those mooring overnight includes a complimentary drink upon arrival for the skipper. Please fill in the registration form attached as required under Aquatic event guidelines. We encourage any sailors with wooden, historic or other interesting vessels they may wish to display in the park to also come along and enjoy the festivities at no charge. Vessels should start arriving on the incoming tide mid morning with a Low at 0716hr of 0.44m and a high at 1303hrs of 1.94m (Brisbane Bar) The event formally starts at 10am and we expect an informal flotilla to form around the St Lucia reach at their leisure slightly prior. The club will have a dedicated VHF channel open for communications channel 73.

17.01.2022 Thank you all for showing up for our last General Meeting: it was a record turn out. Already people are pulling together for the good of the Club just check the header: thanks Abir. Life members the Fredlines dropped in some photos from our history: Anyone recognise these vessels?

13.01.2022 Bruce and Jennys " Albion"

12.01.2022 This boat looks familiar but I can't put a name or owner to it. Anybody? I'm leaning toward the flower pot man.

11.01.2022 Despite the interesting times we live in, there's still activity at the bottom of Hilda St. Tom's boat kissed the water again on Sunday (false start on Saturday). We had a small team keeping the appropriate distances and things went smoothly. Enjoy the pictures: thanks, Jack!

10.01.2022 Just a reminder: the Club will be having its first General Meeting for 2020 this Sunday at 1000hrs. Well be discussing the calendar for the rest of the year, and the challenges and opportunities facing us. Look forward to seeing you there!

07.01.2022 Working bee this weekend. Thanks for the replies so far. We've got a shirt load of stuff, but we've also got a pleasant amount of tucker and bevvies to revive the workers. See you there.

06.01.2022 I have always been a sucker for these old films from the days of big sailing ships thundering around Cape Horn. I thought I had exhausted every old film out the...re, so imagine my surprise when this one turned up from the 1920's. I hope you enjoy this salty sail through the past as much as I did. See more

06.01.2022 Who's was this? Looks like a Swanson Dart.

04.01.2022 Zacks old boat before the Eric Richardson makeover.

03.01.2022 Work has finally begun on the tree removal. Commodore Nick and Secretary Jeff have been doing a stellar job. There will be plenty of firewood for sale to support the club!

01.01.2022 Carl and Howard in foereground on Golden Gem. I can put an owner to every boat in this picture except the red hull.

01.01.2022 Happy and safe Easter everyone.

01.01.2022 Good film about planking a 25 ton boat. Good look at how wood bends when steamed. You may not know thw language but the image are universal. As always enjoy and... feel free to pass these around. This is another good film from the folks at Hardanger. They are doing fantastic work with old wooden boats. Do visit their website. See more
