23.01.2022 2021 LOWDOWN; Sealy SET TO SEAL THE DEAL ON 2021. After sitting out the limited covid schedule in 2020 to focus on work, Apprentice Electrician Matthew Sealy wi...ll be ready for his biggest challenge to date in 2021. Matthew, came into the Wingless Sprints in 2019 and quickly came to grips on the dirt track, graduating from bitumen karts. Matt spent most of 2019 starting from the back of the field, learning his race craft and when starting towards the front, showed that he will be at the front in no time with the help of father Warren Wazza Sealy, no stranger to dirt track racing. We can’t wait to see Matthew in 2021

We have been able to se...cure funds to purchase a new RECOVERY VEHICLE! There is anticipation that further funds will be available to purchase a second recovery vehicle ready to hit the track in 2021! Quality of equipment is important to the efficiency of our volunteers and race meetings and has been a long standing goal of the executive to fulfil. We are stoked to be giving back to our hard-working volunteers with something they need and deserve!

20.01.2022 To night I attended a meeting to set up a new motorcycle club....NT Speedway Riders Association ( Inc). Great turn out. Solo and Outfit Speedway is returning to the NT. Well done Andrew Woods, for doing the hard yards.

20.01.2022 Tonight I was honoured with the MotorSports Volunteer of the Year Award from Top End Dirt Karts. To say I am humbled is an understatement. Firstly I would like ...to thank my partner and fiancee Deborah Townsend for her support. I would also like to thank the other Officials who turn up each meeting. You are each deserving of this recognition. Thank you to the committee and the club for the opportunity to be there as you started and grow into an even more fantastic club.

20.01.2022 Congratulations to Jason McIver who was awarded with Motorsports NT DSRDA Volunteer of the Year. Hopefully I'll see you all the next ti...me I'm in Alice on a speedway night. Remember all photos can be purchased in high resolution or I can organise stunning prints/calendars with images of your choosing. Good luck with your future racing and stay safe on the track.

19.01.2022 Stage 3 win! It’s like a yo-yo effect at the moment, it’s quite frustrating to be at the front then right at the back, the navigation side of things makes it ...difficult to lead a stage out and I have to do it again tomorrow but hopefully I might catch a break and it isn’t too hard! Still a long way to go but to have no crashes and have the bike in one piece at the finish today is great. See more

17.01.2022 NORTHLINE TO FIRE INTO LIFE FOR ONE NIGHT ONLY Speedway will quiet remarkably return to the top end in October with the Northline Speedway in Darwin set to host... a big night of action. After the Darwin Speedway Riders & Drivers Association made the tough decision to cancel the entire 2020 season back in May, hopes were dashed that the venue would see any racing during the dry season in the Northern Territory. In the passing weeks and with the continuation of the easing of COVID-19 restrictions, enthuiasm for the sport of Speedway in Darwin has returned. The Darwin Junior Sedans Incorporated are largely responsible for the race meeting to occur on Saturday 10th October 2020 at the Northline Speedway, as SSA Junior Sedans are seeing growth in the region due to some great promotion in recent times. SSA Junior Sedans & SSA Street Stocks from Darwin have spent the season racing at the neighbouring Katherine Speedway with local competitiors eager to have at least one hitout on home turf in 2020. For more information regarding the "One Off Speedway Night" event please find Darwin Junior Sedans on Facebook. Darwin Junior Sedans

We will be looking for volunteers who are keen to: *Serve in the canteen- currently holding an RSA *Flag Marshalling -you get the best view *Opening and closing the race gates *Covid-saftey monitors. *Help on the front gate entrance. *And more. 12.01.2022 A word from truckies TO ALL THOSE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAYS DURING THE HOLIDAY SEASON Tips from a professional truck driver:... 1. Realise you are on holidays, we are not. We have to run to a work diary and adhere to many extra laws that car drivers are never told about. 2. The speed limit is 100, not 90, or 95, or even 85 but 100. If you would like to sit on a lesser speed to feel safe, we support that, but please assist us by lifting your right foot and allow us to pass you in the overtaking lanes, that's why they are there. Not for you to speed up then slow down again. 3. Take breaks. Good places to stop are truck stops as they have good food and toilet facilities. This supports the locals and keeps our country going. Please also be mindful though to use the car parking bays and leave the truck bays for trucks. We are required to park trucks 26 meters long (or more) and as you may imagine, we need the spaces designed for us. 4. Have your lights on. Be seen, be safe, it costs nothing extra to travel with them on. Fog lights are for inclement weather only, so unless there is rain or fog, please turn them off. You will also save yourself a big fine for driving with them on when not needed. 5. Share the road. No single group has the monopoly, we all want to get home safe to our families. 6. Share the driving. Fatigue Kills, if you don't do a lot of long distance driving then share it around. A dead hero can't talk. 7. Don't be distracted, Put your phone away, let the passenger change the cd, eat while your stopped think safety first. 8. Do not drink or drive while on drugs.. Are the outcomes of a serious injury or death worth it?. You need to stay alert as you never know what's happening in the car travelling towards you. Stay alert = staying alive. Thank you and please stay safe on the road, The Aussie Truckie. Please Share (Copy and paste if you cant share it)

11.01.2022 Well that’s the 2020 Queensland Titles done and dusted. Jake Koivumaki made the A main and officially placed 17th his arms might be a bit sore today power steer...ing let go, Jack Yates made the B Main for possible transfer sadly tyre failure ended his night early, and Col completed all his heats, spots were tough to get. There were 37 nominations with some of the best drivers of QLD, VIC and NSW gunning for top spots, the speed was insane at times. After many years of watching speedway and then looking at their efforts damm I am personally so proud of them. For their first ever interstate title Jake and Jacks lap times and heat racing with those drivers was strong and the experiences they take away from this will only add to them for the future. We all did the trip not only for racing but for family and friends catch ups. Today is pack up ready for the journey home tomorrow, however after a few tourist spots, we hear there are some good wineries. Thank you for your interest and support for Katherine and Tennant Club drivers and our page looking forward to 2021 racing . See more

01.01.2022 2020 Wrap Up Saturday Night's Wet Season Round #2 was the last event of 2020, and what a year it's been. Many thanks to those who attended on Saturday and enjoy...ed the more social racing. A big thank you to Colin and Rachel for helping out on extra short notice and making the event possible. We've still failed to see any of the actual wet stuff during our wet seasons of racing so far though! 2020 started off with so much promise but was quickly thrown into chaos with the cancellation of Round #1. After a few months on the sidelines we came back strong, with increased entrants over previous years. We managed to squeeze a full season into the rest of the year and crown the Club Champions for 2020. A special thank you to everyone for following the instructions to be COVID safe. It was challenging at times to keep on top of what was required of the club by the various authorities but everyone came together (socially distant of course) and made my role much easier. We worked within the rules and still managed to have a fun time. Other clubs weren't so lucky and simply gave up on 2020. We all look forward to what is a promising 2021. The racing calendar has been drafted and submitted to Motorsports NT. Once able, the dates will be announced for everyone to start planning their year. There will be an exciting tweak to the competition formats next year, stay tuned for more details on that in the coming days. We hope this will spice up the racing and refresh the club championship for all. So finally thank you everyone. I hope you've enjoyed your racing in 2020 and look forward to seeing you next year for even more. Have a safe Christmas period and enjoy your time with family and friends. Practice sessions will still continue over the coming weeks. There are now 7 Grade 4 Officials that may oversee a practice session (Mat Burns, Jason Webster, Tim Driscoll, Colin Masters, Steven Ling, Kristian Butler and Daniel Ralph).
