25.01.2022 A bit of a look around the maritime museum this morning.

25.01.2022 Here's a little more Aussie history.

24.01.2022 So this turned up at the yard today. It's one of our local sailors new boat. It looks like a fun boat that should be pretty quick. It will be good to race against her when our club sailing resumes.

23.01.2022 This is where it all began for me and the 19 other guys that did our shipwright apprenticeship. It's 40 years ago that we started. Quite a few of us met up to have a look over the Island then on for a quiet little catch up.

23.01.2022 Just love the look of these boats. I reckon they would be a real challenge to sail.

23.01.2022 It's official. The shirts make it real. Full time now everyone.

22.01.2022 A boatbuilders skill is not just confined to boats. My son and I built a fence and gate at his home to keep the puppy away from the vege patch. It's very cold here in Kingaroy and the work helped keep us warm.

21.01.2022 Beautiful day for a sail off Mooloolaba today. Just checking a nice Beneteau out for a client.

21.01.2022 Checking the integrity of the below waterline areas of a nice yacht today. Just needs re anti fouling as it was a bit dirty.

20.01.2022 I love these boats. Looking forward to following this race.

18.01.2022 Next years Americas Cup will be spectacular that's for sure.

18.01.2022 I am very much looking forward to following this race. Hope Alex can finally get the job done. Awesome boat.

15.01.2022 The Australian GP50 team returning to Cockatoo Island after their day of sailing.

13.01.2022 Just a little repair on a Farr30 rudder.

12.01.2022 True. Also a marine survey to make sure it was safe to go out in the rain.

12.01.2022 Had to turn the power off this morning. Then realised I needed to drill a couple of holes. Found the old hand drill in my toolbox and bingo bango job done. There's still times you need the old time technology.

09.01.2022 Makes perfect sense to me.

09.01.2022 So for those that don't know. Anti fouling paint contains lots of copper. Copper is no good on aluminium as it reacts with salt water and eats the aluminium. So when we anti foul a yacht that has a sail drive leg, we always use a non copper anti foul on and around the leg. The rest of the boat gets the copper anti foul. This is also applicable to any boat built out of aluminium.

09.01.2022 Wow. Amazing how clever these people were.

09.01.2022 Little bit of yacht racing today. Nice to be out again.

08.01.2022 Right here on the Sunshine Coast. I can't recommend these guys highly enough.

07.01.2022 The view from Moreton Bay Trailer Boat Club. I am down for an MSA meeting. Love the outlook from the balcony here.

06.01.2022 Now here's a little bit of interesting history.

05.01.2022 Here's a test for a lot of you. Can anyone name this beautiful little fish I spotted this morning at Mooloolaba Marina.

04.01.2022 What a nice way to start my day. Taking a very nice little Beneteau back to her berth after a survey.

03.01.2022 During my Shipwright apprenticeship I was lucky enough to be involved with the restoration of Yendys, an 18' skiff from back in the 1930's. She is now on display at the Sydney Maritime Museum.

03.01.2022 Wow. I can just imagine the thrill of sailing this boat as a young fella. Could not even dream of something like this when I was 11yrs old.

01.01.2022 We as a nation have some wonderful nautical history. I did my apprenticeship a little further up the Harbour at Cockatoo Island.
