18.01.2022 Angelique Pratten & I are so happy to share this event in February 2021. Tickets are already selling and we are grateful. Why not move into 2021 with some loving self care & time for you. This class is suitable for beginners and all levels of yoga. A 90 minute gentle yoga class set to some soothing music.
18.01.2022 My steel string guitar which you can hear scattered sounds of on my album ‘Hush’, is finished with Koa timber. I found it after a retreat in Hawaii where the koa wood is used for many things. As soon as I strummed it, there was this resonance that sung out. I’ve loved her for many years now. As it is raining at the moment, I can practice my new piece loudly. A light grounding rhythm. Enjoy your Sunday
17.01.2022 If you are looking for yoga near Cameron Park please join Tracey Kirtley
17.01.2022 The rules have been updated. Group singing is now back so why not join us on the 12th
16.01.2022 This was the green all throughout Mount Olympus - it was the most incredible hike I’ve been on - so far. The green was thick and endless. An amazing group of women now share this hike as a bond
15.01.2022 This is one of my uni friends Grant. We spent a few weeks being curious getting together once a week for 5 weeks with 30 minutes guitar while measuring both his and my heart rates before and after. Grant is an ex veteran with chronic ptsd (permission obtained to release that) so this short case study produced some incredible results. ‘Ancient Mother’ from HUSH was recorded with a click track at 43 bpm (beats per minute). I didn’t use a click track for ‘Hush’ but it moves between 43-45bpm. ‘Rubato’ is a musical term meaning the push n pull feel within a piece of music.
15.01.2022 Today is International Peace Day. The United Nations theme this year is to ... spread compassion, kindness & hope... I think more than ever before we are understanding that we all share this earth together
15.01.2022 This incredible tree El Tule in Oaxaca (pronounced wa-ha-ka, is over 2000 years old and Mexico’s oldest living tree. It is protected and loved by all who stand in wonder. Our young guide spoke confidently about this incredible tree. So beautiful & there is a reason why I’m revisiting my photos.
14.01.2022 Celebrating my incredible musician friends who lend their magic to HUSH - sacred songstress Angelique Pratten, Ali Foster one of Sydney's most in demand & popular drummers, Bolo Das on dij and Paul Kirtley percussionist.
13.01.2022 'Birds in Flight' is a new guitar piece that I sneakly threw into my setlist for two yoga events over the weekend. Sounding it out as the class flowed. Any bird in flight is pretty amazing to watch, even more so when they spread their wings and glide gracefully through the air. Their ease and grace a reminder for us all
07.01.2022 Early morning runs and ocean swims - I was lucky enough to be able to swim for awhile with two beautiful turtles. Keeping my distance but watching their beauty & playfulness
07.01.2022 Hush is available on all digital platforms itunes, spotify etc. or on cd or usb through my website www.musicforthemind.com.au It is really awesome to hear comments from people who listen to relax, unwind, have a bath to and even to help sleep. Some have been on incredible roadtrips with Hush playing in the background. Thank you for sharing your moments of HUSH with me

05.01.2022 Love listening to this piece by Argentinian guitarist/composer, Jorge Morel. I’ll never get it to this tempo. Listen to the bass line then listen to what’s happening through the melody & voicings Friday fun fact - in class yesterday we spoke about the rise of younger generations listening to Mozart & Bach during covid (thanks Helen). In some writing by Roberts, Classic Fm ...orchestral music during lockdown had helped them relax & maintain a sense of calmness and wellbeing.
05.01.2022 Angelique Pratten & I are looking forward to this sold out event. We are in planning for some more events early 2021 - thanks for your support

02.01.2022 Fb memories are popping up so I wanted to take the time to appreciate the shapeshifting & growth of ‘Music for the Mind’ which has been running for just over 3 years now. Being part of Summer Solstice, Moon Bloom & yoga events. It has all aligned as well, with my BMus which is steam rolling through its last semester. So I wanted to acknowledge the collaborations who have helped me to share my work of bringing peace and connection through my music . This year has seen t...he release of 3 projects that I’ve had the joy of writing & performing music for. To all the gorgeous people I’ve met at the many events, thank you can’t wait to do more!!! I guess the important message I want to say is this. As an ex emergency service worker who was eventually medically retired after a 15 year career, you can create a new path, find new interests, rediscover & develop old ones. I’m not saying it is easy, nothing worthwhile comes easy, but new beginnings will come if you look deep within See more
01.01.2022 Music to offer you some time out to relax and unwind. Inviting space to the 'busyness' in your life, provide calm while you study or even help you soften to sleep.
