20.01.2022 ***** This is for Sydney Cup***** Trials for the 13 - 14 age group (DOB range September, 2006 to August, 2008) will be held Saturday 12th September, 2020 @ Corbin Reserve, commencing at 1:30pm sharp. Unlike LL, the Players can be either playing in Hills' Hay, Street or Intermediate Leagues. Cost is estimated @ $100 per player. While there is no certainty that the proposed Sydney Cup Competition will actually be played, given the current Health Orders relating to Covid 19. We ...do need to commence selection trials since the Competition has a commencement date of 11th October, 2020. It will be played fortnightly through until December. Pitchers and Catchers will be restricted in those positions in Club games on the weekends that Sydney Cup will be played. This will have a significant effect on Club Baseball within Hills. Conditions of trialing are that players must be already registered with a Club within Hills and not have changed Clubs or Associations since Season 2019-20 unless they have changed Residential address or have been granted Friendship status. Training will be compulsory (there will be a No train No Play Policy). Details of training details are not yet available but I would think that it would be either Wednesday or Saturday afternoon. I am aware that there are players who have significant injuries who will wish to be considered for selection. My advice is do not trial unless your injury has fully healed as there is no benefit in risking a long term injury to play six games. If you cannot play for your Club then certainly you cannot play and train for Hills. The Roster size is restricted to 12 players. Players wishing to trial are required to pre nominate by Thursday, 10th September, 2020. Application to trial should include: Name, Club, D.O.B. and two preferred playing positions. The tables are turning every day with Stanford winning Game 3 today (Best of 5 Series) and take a 2-1 lead going into Game 4 on Saturday morning at CG. Tomorrow is the All Stars Skills Team event. Not sure what to do with those old pants that just don't fit any more? The club is looking for donations of equipment and clothes you may no longer require to help replenish our tee-ball kits or to sell for a nominal charge to help start our new tee-ballers off for the new season....
