24.01.2022 Camera care tip #2. Use the strap and make sure it is threaded properly as per the use manual. I can’t tell you how many times I've seen people drop their point-and-shoots or smartphones while taking a shot. What surprises me is the number of people who use DSLRs without a strap and those things are expensive. You can get gadgets that attach your camera to a belt or backpack strap if you don't want something around your neck. ... I lost count of the number of times customers tried to tell me the strap was of poor design because it had let go, every time it was because it had not been fitted as per the user manual.

22.01.2022 Camera Care tip # 4 Don’t overexpose the sensor. If you’re using an interchangeable lens camera, you’ll inevitably have to expose the sensor whenever you switch glass (you can rely on an all-in-one lens that covers wide-angle and telephoto, but what’s the fun in that). The problem is that the sensor is like a magnet for dust, made worse if you’re outdoors. The key is to minimize the amount of time the sensor is exposed to the elements do it quickly, don’t go ordering a co...ffee while you’re swapping lenses. Also, face the camera downward as you take off/put on lenses. If you are changing lenses in a windy environment, get out of the wind or turn your back to the wind. Alternatively carry a large ziplock bag that will hold camera and lens and change the lens inside the bag. Since the sensor is the heart of your camera, take extra care when you clean it. I would suggest don't try and clean the sensor yourself, get it done professionally. It can be damaged by incorrect cleaning. Generally not expensive.

03.01.2022 Camera Care tip # 3. Cap it! As you know, your camera loves to take spectacular images. It does not like the things life throws at it, like dust, humidity, moisture, etc. The lens and body caps are there to protect the camera from this rubbish. Use it! If you have a DSLR, don't store the caps in your pocket or loose in your camera bag as they will collect dust. I use a small ziplock bag. you can buy 50 of these for about $2 from Coles or Woolies.
