19.01.2022 TEAM GYM TRYOUTS - BOOK NOW Round 1 Saturday 9/1/21 6-9 year olds 11.00am -12.30pm 10-12 year olds1.00-2.30pm 13+ and adults3.00-4.30pm... Round 2 Saturday 23/1/21 (invitation only) What is team Gym ???? Australian Team Gym Program Team Gym combines parts of tumbling, mini tramp and dance to create an exciting team competition event. You get to flip, roll, jump and dance with your friends. Team Gym is huge in Europe, with strong teams of kids ,teenagers and young and old adults pitting their skills and teamwork against other teams. The Australian Team Gym program has been developed for teams of gymnasts, with performances on 3 different apparatus. Teams perform on the following apparatus: Floor Tumbling Vaulting / Mini trampoline (trampette) Teams can have a minimum of six and maximum of twelve members but depending on individual strengths, not everyone needs to perform on every apparatus. In addition, members can also be interchanged or increased/decreased during performance apparatus passes (ie: 1st tumbling run 10 members may perform, 2nd tumbling run 8 members may perform or the 12 may be made up of different members). Team Gym is a useful program for clubs to retain members in a team event which encourages individual skill development and team work. The program is split into novice, intermediate and advanced levels and has the potential to incorporate harder skills depending on coach and gymnast competencies. Swan Districts Gymnastics have developed a Team Gym program in the novice, intermediate ,advance and open levels which is suitable for all ages and abilities . We have competed in state and national competitions for the past 3 years . We have been extremely successful team. Our floor routines always impresses the judges and spectators alike. In 2020 we are had our first ever Open team placing 1st at the State Festival of Gymnastics.
