Matt Leonard is a Director at Tweed Sutherland First National real estate in Bendigo and says the first few months of coronavirus were slow... But, he says, in recent months sales have almost doubled since this time last year. Mr Leonard says one of the reasons is people applying for the $25,000 HomeBuilders Grant in June to build or renovate a new home. If we look over winter, the winter months of last year to this year, I would say that our sales would be nearly 50 per cent up, he says. The population of Greater Bendigo is estimated to grow by about 1.9 per cent every year until 2036 when it is expected to be home to 155,596 people. It was 118,000 in June 2018.
