25.01.2022 RETURN OF THE DOJO #reopened #openforbusiness #welcomeback

14.01.2022 Karate Wearing my badge is optional, it’s never been something I’ve been comfortable saying ‘you must wear this’ this is because it’s the students choice to respect me perhaps in time. Indeed, I’d often explain to beginners, bowing to the rank as having SOMETHING in your mind when bowing is important. But I do not tell people to respect me. It’s up to the individual to make that and own that choice themselves when they’re old enough if they understand what it is to choose ...a Sensei display themselves as part of our Dojo. Actually, the word Dojo is often over used in many cases in western society, it is often walked over & not often enough entered. Truely the path forward for anyone in as a truth seeker in martial arts is inwards & therefore everyone can use Shukokai, or, the way for all to enter each stage from any angle. Now, this requires a lot of support to see something through, which is why I myself ask for support. This is done by training at real Dojo that have an active lineage going back to where this all came from. So, suppose I ask students to bow in class, they’re actually bowing to Shukokai & it’s lineage - not me. Currently this badge serves as belonging & a choice, one day if we’re lucky our hard work & authenticity may be acknowledged with having a name for our Dojo. Anyone who wears this badge is someone I look out for as a potential leader not just in the classes but for the sustainability & growth of our club, I can give OJT (on the job training) to share insights & work with them to give them what they need to succeed & support the cause which is #communitydojo Blue stands for the honesty it takes to start the journey that there is an intention to change. Red resembles the hard work that is put into & shared amongst us all. The purple lifts enlightenment from learning the language of Shukokai. The central black & white symbol represents movement in all its perfect imperfections, the never ending cycles. Please consider it’s not okay to rest on your past achievements & that the words shared here are only in front of the training. To streamline or use legalistic administration gets in the way of the REAL Dojo.

10.01.2022 A little note here from an industry leader to a colleague about Boxing is not yet allowed. ...on another note...... A nice note below recognising the authentic owners of the land. I too acknowledge the traditional custodians of Karate for which we train. I pay my respects to Okinawan & Japanese elders past, present & emerging. I celebrate their cultural contribution to society.
