23.01.2022 Courtyard House | In times like these we all need a little sanctuary and we feel this home offers just the right ingredients. The single storey home is designed on a very long site, typically this would mean creating spaces along the axis of the building with windows facing the side setbacks and outer edges. With a desire to alter this typical the courtyard was used as a design tool to allow our clients to look inwards, to create larger external spaces with beautiful curate...d gardens and also afford the adjacent rooms access to northern sunlight. This visualisation by @studiopemo communicates the larger of the two courtyards which acts as a sun trap for the adjacent living spaces and offers relief and visual interest to the buildings corridor. Importantly it creates a safe internalised external space for a young family to enjoy for years to come See more

17.01.2022 Darling | One of the challenges we face when designing a multi-unit development is creating a sense of separation and privacy for each dwelling. As a starting point, within the gardens, we have created private entrance spaces for each townhouse with a layering of textures and lush green softening the fence lines, courtesy of the talented @plume__studio By using building materials with a warmth, tactility and built form at an appropriate scale the entrance feels like a welcome home wed happily experience on a daily basis

17.01.2022 Park House | Sited abutting beautiful public gardens in the inner suburbs of Melbourne, our proposal utilizes the sites outlook by bringing the calm of the gardens into key spaces within the buildings interior. The landscape forms such an important part of our thinking when designing a building, from placing windows to the arrangement of internal space, the external spaces are never far from our minds. They are spaces that children play, spaces we gather with friends and family, and spaces we enjoy in solitude; an integral part of a healthy lifestyle. With thanks to @andymurraylandscapedesign, the gardens of our proposal are designed to flow seamlessly from inside to outside, blurring lines from garden to park through careful plant selection and respect for the existing neighborhood character, a positive addition to the street.

The building has been designed to age gracefully, with chalky grey brick tones and timber silvering off to blend into the sites natural colours.

13.01.2022 Esplanade // Designed on a steeply sloping site this home is embedded into the natural landscape and looks to maximise views to the bay from every vantage point on the site. Whilst reading as 3 stories in section, the building presents as a single storey at the rear of the site and two stories at the front of the site with the buildings uppermost level traversing over the site. We have been working hard over the past few months developing this project through the design development and documentation stages with the project scheduled to start construction in early 2021. Looking forward to breaking ground with this one!
