25.01.2022 What a fire season we have had so far. We apologise for not being as active on this page as we normally are, but as you can understand we have been busy! Our brigade as well as many others within the Macarthur zone & state wide have been flat out with numerous fires that have been burning across the state. Catherine Field has been heavily involved in blazes such as the Green Wattle Creek, Gospers Mountain, Morton and even assisting down at Ulladulla & Tumut. As well as contin...uing to cover local incident. Some of our members have completed over 300 hours on the fire ground since the inception of the local Green Wattle Creek fire. With the recent cooler temperatures and small patches of rain we have had some respite, however a number of these fires are still trying be controlled by the RFS and other agencies. We appreciate our local communities continuous support, thoughtful donations and cards. It truely means a lot to us that so many of you are thinking of us during this seemingly never ending fire season. We are looking forward to a few cold ones when it’s all over, and maybe even finally get to have our Christmas party a few months late.

21.01.2022 We have been receiving a lot of calls about Static Water Supply stickers that you can put on your gate or letterbox to let fire fighters know that you have a po...ol we can get water from. We have put together this picture that you can print out and place at the front of your house to help us if there is a bushfire. This is only meant to be temporary as we would encourage you to contact your local Fire station so we can assess your static water supply. Please share this with any friends that have a pool and ask themthem put it on their letter box. We would like to thank everyone in the community for supporting us.

Congratulations to all recipients for your dedication and professionalism.

19.01.2022 Today’s Fire Danger Rating Is VERY HIGH. Bush fire danger ratings are issued during the bush fire danger period. Fire Danger Ratings give you an indication of the consequences of a fire, if one was to start. The higher the fire danger, the more dangerous the conditions. You should use the Fire Danger Ratings as a trigger to take action.... Any given fire permits suspended. Any Fires should be called through to 000.

14.01.2022 Congratulations to our former NSW Rural Fire Service Commissioner Shane Fitzsimmons AFSM who has been announced as the NSW Australian of the Year. Thank you

13.01.2022 A huge thanks to Antico Woodfire Pizza Narellan who donated a few delicious pizzas to feed some extremely hungry firefighters. Leppington RFB & Catherine Field RFB can’t thank you enough

13.01.2022 This is the most positive news we've had in some time. The recent rainfall has assisted firefighters to put over 30 fires out since Friday. Some of these blazes have been burning for weeks and even months.

13.01.2022 THE SANTA TRUCK IS COMING!! Save the dates for December 2020 Saturday 5th Gregory Hills & Gledswood Hills... Saturday 12th Catherine Park & Harrington Grove Saturday 19th Catherine Field & Oran Park The Catherine Field Rural Fire Brigade understands this has been a very challenging and different year for many families. With this in mind, we have been able to get Santa (his helper) to spread some cheer across our great community and to see those smiles on all the kids faces. This year is not about donations, this year is our turn to give something back for all of you that have supported us and for us to spread some Christmas cheer to you and your family. This Santa run will be like no other but with some careful planning we are confident we can make it a fun experience while keeping within COVID19 restrictions and guidelines. So, come and wave to Santa as we drive and stop around your neighbourhood. While we are doing our best to keep you all safe, we ask that you all keep us safe. If you or anyone in your family is unwell, you may stand at your letter box or front yard and Santa will still drive past for a wave. Please do not come to the truck if you are unwell or have travelled overseas in the last 14 days. Please keep a 1.5 metre distance from brigade members and surrounding people that are not in your immediate family at all times. More details with times and locations closer to the dates.

09.01.2022 SEVERE DANGER RATING AND TOBAN DECLARED FOR TOMORROW (SUNDAY) 29-11-20 Total Fire Ban rules No fires during a Total Fire BanA total fire ban means no fires out in the open. A total fire ban helps limit the potential of fires developing. During a Total Fire Ban you cannot light, maintain or use a fire in the open, or to carry out any activity in the open that causes, or is likely to cause, a fire.... General purpose hot works (such as welding, grinding or gas cutting or any activity that produces a spark or flame) are not to be done in the open. The NSW RFS strongly recommends you reconsider activities such as such using a tractor or slashing, to help reduce the chance of a fire starting on your property. See more

08.01.2022 Yesterday saw 12 of our brigade members out on the fire ground until late last night.

08.01.2022 The Morton Fire, which has been burning for 29 days in the Wingecarribee LGA has tonight been contained. This fire originally started from the Currowan Fire as ...it burnt north from the Shoalhaven on January 4. Thousands of firefighters from right across NSW and interstate have made this possible with their tireless efforts under some very trying conditions. The fire has burnt out just over 23,000 hectares and has seen a number of homes and structures damaged and destroyed. This fire will continue to burn in unburnt pockets of bushland, however there are no threats.
