25.01.2022 Its kitten season again and as usual for this time of year we have had an influx of kittens. Just yesterday we welcomed 11 bottle babies into our rescue varying in ages from 2-4wks. 3 of our dedicated foster carers have taken on the job of being Mum and all the babies are doing very well in care But we do need your help. These 11 babies will need round the clock care up until they are ready for adoption at 8wks old, which is quite costly. ... This is where you come in We are a rescue run solely by volunteers we have no funding. So we need your help We are looking for donations of : Kitten food preferably Royal Canin Baby Cat and Whiskas Kitten sachets. Soft fluffy blankets (baby blankets in Kmart are perfect and only $5) Kitty litter. Kitten toys. Drop off point being Warwick Vet Hospital EDIT: These kittens are not available for adoption yet... so no enquires just yet.

23.01.2022 Allow us to introduce you to possum. Possum came to us after being found all alone in a car engine. She was skinny, covered in fleas and very scared. With some love, she has turned into the gorgeous girl you see here today. She is a sweet little girl with a massive personality. If she isnt cuddled up on your chest, she will be chasing you around for more love and attention. Possum is a playful girl, but is always gentle. She gets along well with other cats that she has met at her foster home, and has even met a dog. If you would meet Possum, she is at Warwick Veterinary Hospital tonight until 7pm and tomorrow 8am-7pm. If you need more information call Warwick on 9243 1997.

20.01.2022 Hi there, My name is Freckle! I was found on the streets as a young kitten. I was scared, alone, starving and injured. I had chemical burns on my paws, and had no trust in people. One of our nurses, Karrie, wrapped me into a cat burrito in a blanket (purrito), and taught me how to feel warm, safe and loved, from that moment, I learnt how to purr, and I havent stopped since. ... I have been fostered by Karrie for the past few months to help me learn how to live in a home environment. I am always excited to see someone, greeting them with happy chatters and trills. My favourite thing is cuddles and reaching up for kisses. When I am comfortable in my new home, you can be sure that I will be a playful little kitten with lots of independence. But because of my past, I will need time, and someone who has the patience to allow to me adjust. I can be timid around new people and will take a little while to warm up to my new family. I LOVE other cats, but unfortunately Im not a fan of dogs. I would be best suited to live in a quiet household, such as with an older couple, that is willing to keep me as an indoor only kitty with possibly of another cat friend. If you think you could be my forever family, or are interested in meeting me, please contact Warwick Vet Hospital on 9243 1997. Note: Freckle is sterilised, microchipped and fully vaccinated already, this is all included in her adoption package.
19.01.2022 Beautiful Storm and Trooper are up for adoption. They are about 12 weeks old. Ideally we would love for them to go together as they are a bonded pair. Would consider separating for the right families. They are totally deaf and white so need to be 100% indoors to keep them safe from sun burn and danger as they cant hear traffic etc. They will be desexed next week and have had all their vaccinations and microchip. Please call Barbara on 0411559930

09.01.2022 Rough and Tumble take 2. Meet Hank and Frank, two gorgeous kittens with a deformity called Eyelid Agenesis. They were found on the streets of Perth and taken to us here at Warwick Veterinary Hospital. Upon examination the vets realized they were about 4wks old, they were little ferals and they had a condition called Eyelid Agenesis. Within a few days the hissing started to subside and the purring began, they soon became lap kittens. They are now thriving and getting more con...fident everyday all it took was a little TLC. Next, their next journey will begin to hopefully one day live with comfortable healthy eyes, for this we need your help! Eyelid Agenesis is a birth defect that was rather uncommon but only last year we had the same defect with our other rescue kittens Rough and Tumble. Lucky for them we raised enough money to get them their surgery and they are now living happy healthy lives in their new home. Eyelid agenesis is mostly found in cats, although other animals can suffer from it as well. In cats with eyelid agenesis, the eyelid does not form properly. The parts of the eye that are not protected by an eyelid are constantly subjected to any dust, eyelashes and hair that come into contact with the eyeimagine constantly having an eyelash stuck in your eye without being able to remove it. In addition, the eye is not able to be properly hydrated, and is easily irritated, red and dry as a result. As the eye continues to be aggravated and inflamed, it is more susceptible to infection and corneal ulcers. The recurring damage sustained by the eye can cause scar tissue to form. The cornea may thicken too much to try and protect itself from the irritation, and the cat can suffer from painful, hard-to-treat ulcers and eventually lose sight in the affected eye. Hank and Frank will need specialist plastic surgery to create new upper eyelids to save their eye sight and live pain free lives! This will be a lengthy, costly process and they may need more than one surgery each so they need all the help they can get. This surgery will cost $1000 each and there is a slight chance of needing a second smaller surgery afterwards if any hairs are still getting in the eyes. Hank and Frank need to be bigger and stronger for their surgery so need to be at least 6 months old as long as their eyes are not getting damaged. If you would like to donate to them head to this link https://www.gofundme.com/Hank-and-Frank-need-your-HELP See more

04.01.2022 Here is a lovely little girl looking for her forever home. Diva Doris. She came into our rescue with her surviving brother and sister. She was small, sick, undernourished and frightened of everything. With lots of TLC and good food Doris has blossomed. She will follow you around the house wondering what you are up to. She will come when called she loves her food and loves to sit with you at night to watch your favourite TV shows. Doris is great with cat friendly dogs and would love the friendship of another cat/kitten. She is fully house trained, totally inside kitten, fully vaccinated, desexed, flead and wormed. If you would to meet this gorgeous little girl please contact me, the carer, on 9243 1997 during working hours and ask for Karen.
04.01.2022 Shy boy Dorito is looking for his forever family Approx 8 months old, very timid so will need a patient family to nurture him. He is obsessed with his feline foster brother so please get in contact if your kitty would like a feline friend! He has had a rough start to his little life and was brought to us with recurring abscesses which has spread to multiple tissues in his body. Due to this, he now walks with a slight limp which may remain with him permanently, but does not affect him in any way! He has been given a clean bill of health by our veterinarians and all infection has now cleared.

02.01.2022 Thank you all so so much for your donations. We’ve raised over half the amount already It is very much appreciated. Peggy is still doing fabulously, she is surrounded with love from her foster brothers and bodyguards Cheech and Moon. She has just starting to get interested in solid food, she is now 4.5wks old but weighs nearly 600g (little fatty) that’s a 6 week olds weight ... I’ve attached her invoice so you can all see where your donations are going. We can only continue to save these little kittens lives with your support so please keep sharing and liking our posts to get the word out there. Do you know?? Since we started our rescue 8 years ago we have rescued and rehomed nearly 900 cats and kittens. None of that would be possible without your ongoing support and donations. Thank you to each and everyone of you If you’d like to donate the link will be in the comments
02.01.2022 This little kitten is the epitome of strength. She was surrendered to Cat Rescue Perth on the 16th of October, she had a very nasty injury to her hind leg and tail. We suspect something got wrapped around her leg and tail cutting off circulation. To save her life she needed to have urgent surgery to amputate her leg and half of her tail. The problem was she was 10days old and weighed only 172g The other option was euthanaisia but with how strong she was we were never going ...to make that decision. The was only one choice and that was to amputate her leg sooner rather than later. Her leg was so badly infected if had turned purple and had started to essentially die risking her going into sepsis. Dr Fiona South at Warwick Vet Hospial preformed the surgery the following day. We honestly didn’t know if she would be strong enough to make it through surgery with her being so young and so small, but we had to at least try. She got through surgery no issues whatsoever. She proved to us what we knew when we first laid eyes on her, that she was a strong fighter and deserved a chance at life. She is the youngest kitten we’ve ever done surgery on never mind an big orthopaedic surgery. We named her Peggy aka Peg Leg She is now 4.5weeks old and going from strength to strength. Now that we have saved Peggy’s life there is the matter of raising the funds to pay for her treatment. Cat rescue Perth is volunteer based cat rescue. All adoption fees go towards paying for our kittens routine veterinary treatment. So when we get a kitten in like Peggy it’s very hard for us to afford to pay for such a big surgery. Luckily we have a very kind vet who done the surgery knowing they wouldn’t get payment straight away. So this is where you guys come in... now we need your help If any of you could donate towards Peggy’s bill it would truely be appreciated #everylifematters

02.01.2022 Paula McManus has rescued hundreds of cats off the streets of Perth who have now gone on to live healthy happy lives. She cant continue to do this without a mode of transport. We really need to get her a new van. Please donate what you can :)
