20.01.2022 It is with heavy hearts Caulfield Lacrosse Club acknowledges the passing of Sue Sofarnos. A legend of Lacrosse both on and off the field through all levels of the sport Melli gave so much to so many, including members of the CLC family. If you were lucky enough to be part of a team that Melli was involved in, you would have been caught up in the togetherness, professionalism and sheer motivation and passion she instilled into the group. Whether you were the best player i...n the world, learning the game, proud parent, supporter or friend, she treated everyone the same and took the time to get to know you. To John, Hayley Sofarnos Plumb Jess and their extended family and Newport Ladies Lacrosse Club we express our deepest condolences and throw our arms around you at this heartbreaking time. Lacrosse wont be the same without you around. One of a kind and forever in our hearts. We will miss you dearly. Cheers buddy

13.01.2022 SEASON 2020 UPDATE - https://mailchi.mp/7c/newsflash-huge-upcoming-round-2885577

13.01.2022 Due to the evolving situation with COVID-19, we will suspend training for senior men and women (and juniors) for the moment. As you know we put in place guidelines and protocols to ensure sure our training was safe and in compliance with the general advice provided by official government health agencies. Today Lacrosse Victoria has announced the postponement of the start of the season and are now directly contacting health agencies to get lacrosse specific advice. They will m...ake that information available in the coming days and we will use that to guide any decisions we make about club activities. Just a reminder to all our members, family and friends to do your best to stay informed about what you need to do to stay safe. The current advice from health authorities - to stay home if you are unwell, to practice social distancing and to wash hands - is important and applies to any sporting activity you undertake. If practicing lacrosse informally dont do any drill that involves contact. Make sure you wash your hands before and after you put gloves on when otherwise using your equipment. It would also be prudent to wipe your equipment down with a disinfectant before and after use. If you visit Caulfield park and take out a goal to practice shooting, please be careful handling the goals. Make sure your hands are cleaned before and after you set the goals up and also when you put them away. The same applies to any equipment you pick-up (like the ball bag) from the bag shed (also to opening and closing the shed). Along with the Covid-19 specific advice given by the authorities can we also add the general advice that getting good sleep and eating well is an important part of staying safe and healthy. We also encourage all our club members to stay in touch with each other. Lets check in with each other, chat about lacrosse, but also make sure they each of us knows that there are people that they can connect to and talk to if they need support in the coming days and months. Caulfield Lacrosse Club players will be given training exercises from our coaches to allow us all to continue preparation for the upcoming season. Look out for links to training videos on this page and via email. Any updates to the season dates will be posted on our main Caulfield Lacrosse Club page first. We will also send out emails to those not on this Facebook page with regular updates. Thanks for your understanding. 12.01.2022 Australian Government - COVIDSafe App Sporting organisations have a role to play in helping to stop the spread of COVID-19, so we can get sport back up and runn...ing across Australia. Many athletes have spread the message about staying safe during this crisis and no doubt has played a part in the broader communitys response to the social distancing measures that have had to be put in place to stop the spread of the virus. Use of the COVIDSafe app will help us to move more quickly to reduce restrictions than would otherwise be possible including the safe return to sport. The app has been created solely as a public health initiative and will allow state and territory health officials to automate and improve what is already done manually. It will be one of the tools we will use to help protect the health of the community by quickly alerting people who may be at risk of having contact with the virus. For more information on the COVIDSafe App please visit: https://www.health.gov.au/res/apps-and-tools/covidsafe-app

01.01.2022 Hey everyone! This is a new game called the VicLax Challenge. You can challenge your friends, family and teammates while at home. Use the sock off your foot, m...ake it into a ball and challenge friends to a shot using everyday household items. In the 2nd video I took a sock and stood 5 big steps away from a laundry basket and lobbed the sock into it. I challenge Hayley Sofarnos Plumb, TriBall Lacrosse and Kade Robinson to this shot. They have 24 hours to respond and complete the shot, otherwise I get the letter V. If the person you challenge doesnt complete the shot, you get a letter. Challenge your friends to complete the #viclaxchallenge and win the game. Collect V-I-C-L-A-X to win. Get creative with your shots and remember the harder the better!
