25.01.2022 Its a strange feeling as we head more and more into Autumn that preschool feels like it is slowly and carefully waking up again, after our Covid hibernation. A small group of children returned yesterday. There was such a buzz of excitement and joy at connecting with friends and colleagues again. Not to mention excitement at a small harvest in our vege garden!

23.01.2022 We hope all our families are keeping well over the school holidays. Currently the plan is that preschool will be open again next Wednesday for those children and families who need us. We will be putting extra procedures in place to manage the situation and will be calling you all next Tuesday to talk about your needs and plans, and answer any questions. In the meantime please message or email if you have any questions or would like to discuss. Stay well!

21.01.2022 Just a reminder its our end of year Garden Picnic this Wednesday - from 3pm onwards. See you there!

18.01.2022 Term 3 started with our visit to the Lismore Gallery to see the Hannah Cabinet. This week the term has ended with the children still inspired by the visit and refining their designs for their own Cawongla Cabinet. Have a great holiday everyone. Term 4 starts back on Tuesday 15th October

17.01.2022 Over the last month or so we have been working (off and on) on designing and building our own Rainbow Cabinet for the preschool - in response to the Hannah Cabinet in the Lismore Gallery. Working with rainbow colours has brightened up our smoky days!! Let's hope it brings on some rain...

16.01.2022 Hi everyone. Leanne and her Thursday storytelling...a keen audience with Shivali, Albie, Kim and Stephen.. "Storyteller, storyteller, tell us another story... "

16.01.2022 Just to advise that Cawongla Playhouse will be open as usual tomorrow - Tuesday 12/11. We are liaising with the RFS and at this stage there is no reason to close. Conditions for Cawongla are high but not catastrophic. If you are concerned, or are in a high risk zone, then you might choose not to send your child. For those families who are sending their children be assured we have systems and processes in place to monitor the ongoing situation with fires etc. If you have any questions or concerns you can call the preschool today on 6633 7167, or msg us via this page. Meanwhile we're thinking of all the near and far communities under threat from these fires.

14.01.2022 Our end of year picnic celebration is coming up! Come join us on Wednesday 18th December from 3 - 5pm for a Garden Party and Picnic! There'll be storytelling, prizes, a slideshow and more!!

13.01.2022 Happy new year everyone! Cawongla Playhouse opens again next Wednesday the 29th January at 9am. We're very excited about this coming year and can't wait to see you all!!

12.01.2022 It has been a very quiet week at preschool this week - just a week ago we were discovering all of the new life that had come with the rain - tadpoles, bugs, witchetty grubs.... Stay well everyone!

09.01.2022 Preschool starts back this coming Tuesday 21st July. We hope you’ve all had a great holiday. Looking forward to seeing everyone back then!

08.01.2022 Cawongla Playhouse will be open as usual tomorrow, following all government and health advice and procedures. We will be adding extra procedures to our already strict hygiene procedures, as we normally do in the event of an outbreak of infectious diseases. If children are unwell, please keep them at home - and remember, thorough hand washing, coughing into your elbow/tissue, and distance/isolation if necessary are really important. We will be continuing to reinforce this with children as needed...

07.01.2022 Today Finn brought in a very intact and beautiful python skin. It was fascinating to look at its sparkling eyes and mouth - shape. We laid it out from its head to tail to measure how long it was. It turns out it is 5 blocks long, or 7 steps. We'd misplaced our tape measure, so we weren't able to measure the length in centimetres. Instead Tom came up with the great idea of inventing our own measure, and Raph designed it.

06.01.2022 Drop-in Playgroup returns on MONDAY 27 July 9.30-11.30 am. We look forward to seeing our playgroup friends. If you or anyone in your household has visited Victoria or a NSW hotspot (south of Sydney) during the school holidays, or, if you have had a visitor or close contact with someone from these areas, you and your child will need to stay away. Please contact us to discuss this further.

03.01.2022 Welcome back to Term 4, and a special welcome back to Leanne after your long break - we have really missed you! We've been thinking of ways to welcome you back - a list of possible things we could say include: "Hello!" "Jingi wala!" "Hooray!"... "Boo!" We spent Wednesday baking a batch of honey date muffins as a surprise, and then we've spent this morning eating them!!!!
