17.01.2022 Our national cultural sector is worth $111 Billion per year to the countries economy, but somehow our government refuses to allow gig to gig workers, self employed musicians, technical event staff & a majority of arts and culture workers to receive Jobkeeper. The arts industry was one of the first hit, and will be one of the last to recover from social distancing restrictions. It also happens to employ a disproportionate amount of young people, It's time to demand that our government hears us. Read and sign the open letter in the article to add your voice to the growing chorus. The arts industry needs HELP or it wont be recovering anytime soon. Write to your MP, tweet at them, email a poem about their ineptitude or just share this post - the arts are crucial to our society and we desperately need funding to survive.
