09.01.2022 NSW Public School Restrictions Announced! With more strict rules being applied to NSW Public Schools CCSA will continue to liaise with NSW Department of Education Early Childhood to determine if any further restrictions will be applied to ECEC services. We have raised concerns relating to School Transition or Orientation Programs. We have urged the department to provide some clear guidelines and instructions on what this will mean for children starting school in 2021 and to provide support for both Schools and ECEC services as we dont want to see children miss out on such a vital program, but we also recognise this requires careful management.

04.01.2022 NSW State Preschool funding announcement - update from CCSA. Thank you to all of our members phoning and emailing their feedback and expressing concerns about the latest funding announcement. We do appreciate you taking the time to outline the potential impact on services arising from this initiative. Community Preschools have various financial pressures, service designs, cohorts and fee structures and your emails provide valuable feedback on the financial circumstances that... affect the operation of your preschool. CCSA is working with the Department as they develop the mechanisms to roll out the program in 2021. We are collating all the feedback we receive and will present it to the Department during our continuing discussions with them. We are raising a number of areas for discussion:- 1. Examining the benefit and/or impact across the various cohorts in all preschools. 2. One off funding support for services that charge no fees or very low fees in particular those Services Safety Net funded services. 3. Modelling of the impact for services that charge a higher fee and reach the 80% floor, where this leaves a 'gap fee'
